Can any of you Windsor Hills experts help me? We are headed to WH in a few weeks. I have heard mention of a shortcut via Sherbeth Rd. Can anyone give me more specific directions? Also, should I use that shortcut only for going to AK or for the other parks too? We will have a GPS with us, but I assume that it might not take us the best way to some of the parks from WH.
Thanks!

here a map from google

if you have your address for the home or condo put that in - just put Disney's Animal Kingdom for the other one.

I use Shertberth road for everything - although for the MK and Epcot it is probably quicker to use Us192 - then World drive.

You can use the red line on the map above (Sherberth Rd entrance) to get to any part of Disney. It will take you to Animal Kingdom first then just follow the signs to the rest of Disney. When you return follow the signs for the Animal Kingdom area then keep left and head for AK Lodge. At the lights (intersection for Sherberth Rd) turn left and go back to WH the way you came.
To get to DHS from WH it's just as quick to go to World Dr. Turn right on to 192 from Old Lake Wilson Rd and then take the exit for World Dr. The second right will take you into DHS. Just stay right when going under the overpass.
Using Sherberth will take you in the "back way" to DHS which is a little longer.

We stay at Mystic Dunes which is right behind Windsor Hills. We usually just take Sherbeth Rd for Animal Kingdom. It is SO easy to turn right on 192 and go to all the other parks that the only time we avoid it is at really peak days and hours like opening and closing time at Christmas. The rest of the year, waiting for the left turn to go to Sherbeth is just going to slow you down for the other parks.

We used Sherberth road everytime we went on Disney property. 192 always was congested.

Thanks for this! We have stayed in the Formosa Gardens area for the last three years and always had to take the highway back. For some reason, I could never find the way back to Sherbeth road. Now I know:)

Just be sure not to miss it on the drive back to your places It is right after the entrance to Ak and there is a light there.:thumbsup2

LOL, once I ended up at AK, because that's where my GPS took me.

I'm with swilshire. Except for AK we've always found the right on 192 to be the fastest.

When you leave WH and turn left on to Old lake Wilson road, take another left into the entrance to Westgate Villas. This is less than a mile down OLW and you will skip having to travel on 192. Before you get to the main entrance to WV, turn right and this will take you directly up to the lights at Sherberth Road and 192. Drive straight through and follow Sherberth Road to Oseola Parkway which takes you right through Disney. This will shave at least 5 minutes off your travel time, as the lights at 192 and Lake Wilson road are very busy and very slow! Plus it is a pretty drive, as they have landscaped WV very nicely. ::yes::
