Make a long story short, we just found out we are double booked for our condo! They moved us to another but it only sleeps 6! We have 10 going! The other condo slept 8 and they allowed two rollaways. We called and they only have sleeps 6 condos left!! Vacation is in two months! I AM HAVING A HEART ATTACK!

They did say they would give us a refund or we can take the larger sleeps 6 condo they have but would have to do rollaways/blow ups.

I don't know where to turn! I am very disappointed. :sad1:I wanted to stay there. Now I am back online hunting for a place that sleeps 10 and has a nice resort. I am cross eyed looking online and don't know where to look. It took me FOREVER to find that condo as it was! And here I am back to square one and have only a few days to decide.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to look?? We want some place near Disney that has a nice resort area with playground and pool and staying at around $800 for 7 nights!! Is this possible?:sad2:

HELP

We have stayed in condo and townhouses in Windsor Hills. We paid $100/night for both. Maybe you'd consider widening your search to include townhouses. We were much more comfortable in a townhouse and we were a family of 4 and had our own splash pool which we enjoyed very much.

Two months is an eternity when dealing with these offsite properties. You will not have a problem AT ALL finding something suitable. The supply down there is higher than the demand.

Sorry to know that and I hope you find a nice home. It might not be so difficult as it is only 7 nights. What are the exact dates?

I can only think of unethical ways for double bookings to happen.

Come on, the owner/management company just needs a booking software!

Everyone tries to hedge their bets. One way to stop double bookings is to get non refundable payments.

She won't find anything at Bonnet Creek that sleeps 10 for $800.

I also suggest Emerald Island. We stayed at a 3BR/2.5BA townhome there a couple years ago. It was $490 for the week at that time. So I'm sure you can find something in your budget there. It was nice. You could also look at Silver Lake.

OP, I suggest you look on vrbo for a 4 BR townhome at Encantada - it's about 4 miles away from Windsor Hills. I haven't stayed there (we stay in Windsor Hills) but have read really good reviews on tripadvisor and on this site. Vrbo shows several 4 BR properties that accomodate 10 for under $900 (I think you will have to go a bit above your budget of $800).

Another alternative is to stay in a 4-5 BR home in Indian Creek. There is no resort pool at Indian Creek, and it is not gated (unlike Encantada); however, the homes have private pools and you could probably find one closer to your budget of $800.

Good luck and let us know what you choose.

I agree with the above. Also check into Crestwynd Bay. If I remember correctly, it's on the same main road at WH. However, it's cheaper since it hasn't been really "discovered" yet :)

I would do a VRBO search of Windsor Hills again. There's bound to be some places still available. I just did a search out of curiosity for our trip in 3 days, and there are still a bunch of places with week-long availability.

What about Regal Palms??

The resort area is what I am looking for. I want more than just a wadding pool as we are taking at least one day to relax at the resort. But some of the reviews on trip adviser makes me hesitate.:confused3 Any one have reviews?

They should have found you comparable accommodations. Their error should not cause anxiety or extra work for you. Who did you rent from ? May be more expensive but a 3 bedroom at Bonnet Creek would meet your needs. We have rented from Vacation Strategies with success.

We booked through **************** . They have nothing compatible left. They put us in another condo but it only sleeps 6. We have ten coming. It was too small to even fit in foldaways/blowups. So we called. They pulled a large condo the size we originally had out of no where and put us in there. BUT it still only sleeps 6. We would have to do the foldaways/blowups but at least there is room in that one to do it. It of course buts us way over the limit set for the condo too. They told us we can do two over the listing headcount. Not going to make it with a sleep 6 condo!

Soooooooooo frustrating.

So I am back to looking until I am cross eyed at condos again. I did find one through VRBO at Windsor and one at Regal Palms. But we have to decide on which one to do. :confused3 I like Windsor. But my husband likes that there is three bathrooms at Regal for that many people. (guy thing to think of bathrooms?? :sad2: ) The reviews at Regal seem iffy so...........

I've stayed at Regal Palms 2x (2010 & 2012). It was very nice. We never had time to use the pool so I can't say too much about it, but it is a very nice area. It is gated and not too noisy. Depending on traffic it is about 20-30 minutes to Disney from there. The one thing I didn't like about it is the $12/day resort fee. Both units we stayed in were very nice 4 bedroom (slept 10 w/ sleeper sofa) and 3 1/2 baths. Both times we paid about $800/week.

I guess I'm going to be a bit of a curmudgeon here and say that your first mistake was trying to stretch a condo that usually sleeps 8 to one that sleeps 10. I know that they agreed to the roll away beds, but you are the one that made the decision to cram that many people into a small condo. I'm not sure, but it sounds like you were offered the same size condo you originally booked and that one is really too small.

I would take the refund and try to find something bigger. I booked a beautiful 4-bedroom home right around the corner from Windsor Hills (at Formosa Gardens) for $800 including tax over Christmas. The home owners who have not booked or who have last minute cancellations are more than willing to negotiate because they don't want to leave their homes empty. Here is the house that I rented: http://www.vrbo.com/375088 and it is in your price range. I thought that the couch also pulled out so it sleeps 10 but maybe I was wrong. You can email the manager Crystal and ask if your week is available. She is very nice!
