Bear with me, I have a ton of questions :) Almost ready to pull the trigger on booking WH for next April but wanted to get a little more info that only experts might be able to answer. Please help answer some or all of my questions.... :cutie:

1. How did you book WH? I've been using VRBO and windsorhillprivaterentals.com to research but would love to do a more exhaustive search.
2. Has anyone stayed in the condos there? You can't beat the price but I'm wondering if we'll feel crammed? (4 adults, 2 kids)
3. Do they have a tiki bar or snack bar? Some sites say they do, some say it's coming soon, some look like there are just chairs outside and you go order beer/wine in the gift shop.
4. Can you walk to any restaurants from WH?
5. Anything specifically kid-friendly? My kids will be 3 and 5, it doesn't look like they have a designated kiddie pool, do they? Do they have any scheduled activities for kids?

Thanks so much!

I can answer a few. We have stayed in the 3 bedroom condos and found them very roomy. They have a nice layout. Kitchens are a galley style but very workable. We used vrbo and found great deals with very nice people. You can't walk to any restaurants with ease. Most are on Irlo Bronson, but there are tons of them. Dunkin Donuts very closeby if you are a fan.

We've used vacationcentralflorida.com and VRBO to book units. We've stayed in 2 bedroom condos, 3 bedroom condos and a 3 bedroom townhouse and have always had plenty of room for our family of 5-6. They do not have a kiddie pool, but there is a splash pad near the main pool. The onsite store had hotdogs for sale when we were there last and they also had a limited selection of drinks available. Not sure if the tiki bar is open now or not.

Hot Dogs, interesting, thanks :)

We just stayed in a 3BR condo in June. We loved Windsor Hills!!! There were 3 adults and 2 kids in our condo, and we never felt cramped at all! I think the layout is very nice! We were about a 2 minute walk to the pool. The pool is huge!!! I think it will be great for your age kids. There is a zero entry part, so a lot of area that your kids will be able to stand and play in. Also, there is the splash pad.

They do have a snack bar-we used it one day for chicken fingers and fries-it was very good! They also have a movie theater where you can pick the movie you want to see. We never used it, but I know they have it. There are also 2 playgrounds for kids-the castle playground is the best-lots of fun! There are no scheduled activities for kids that I know of

No restaurants within walking distance, but there are a ton of them just literally around the corner. A very short drive! Pretty much anything you could want very, very close!

Seriously, you cannot go wrong booking Windsor Hills!! We are going back next year and will definitely be staying there again!

We used windsorhillsrent.com and filled out a request on there and the owners emailed us with quotes. You can check out the place we stayed at windsorholiday.com. That is their direct website. I believe the email is on there. We loved the view and liked being just a quick 2 minutes walk to the pool.

I've used VRBO. Usually go with properties with a high number of good, recent reviews. I've found you can usually find a better deal there than on those 'private rental' sites.

We've stayed in a 3br condo and there was plenty of space. All really depends on the individual condo though. The one we stayed at was more geared towards kids. The master had a queen bed, the 2nd bedroom had bunk beds and a full and the 3rd bedroom was a pull-out couch (which worked for us because that always became the baby/toddler room with the pack 'n play). But it is all YMMV based on individual condos. I've seen plenty that have a queen, another queen, and a room with two twins - which should work for you depending on how old the kids are.

http://www.windsorhillsmaster.com/doku.php should have the most up-to-date info

4. Can you walk to any restaurants from WH?

Don't think so. Nearest restaurants are on 192, which is a hike. I'm also not sure if there are sidewalks on the way. Lots of delivery or carryout options nearby though.

The pool is zero depth with 'dancing water' splash-pad-type things. They've also got indoor games, a pretty cool looking playground, and a theatre. Doesn't look like they have any kind of kid's club though.
