We were wondering how the construction is going?

Is it difficult to get across?

We came back that way last spring and it took us forever to find the right road. Don't know if it was us or what. Finally the police pointed us in the right direction.

Thanks

If not sure if you need directions to the Detroit airport or are planning on driving I-75 south. Things are still pretty torn up at the bridge. If you are driving I-75 south, you go straight at the bridge and then left through Mexican town, then anther left to get to the expressway. It's a bit tricky and would be even trickier at night in the dark. If you are headed to the airport, I would suggest you take I-75 south to Eureka Road, right on Eureka Road and then go in the "back door" or the airport. The airport actually backs on to Eureka Road and the entrance to the airport is well marked. Good luck.

Hi there,
I work for CAA and so far with the information that we are getting is that it is still really bad by the bridge. A client came in and said that the bridge is sometimes closed and that at one point they were detoured through the gas pumps at the Duty Free. As far as I know, we are still routing around Windsor all together by crossing at Sarnia or Buffalo unless otherwise requested. If you are planning to take the I75, you can drive Buffalo, Erie and then catch on to it later on...

heading south on the I 75 is not bad at all. There are detours but they are well marked. Coming back north on I 75 to the bridge is fine.

take the tunnel! We always do and find it less congested and easier to get through, especially with the construction. All the highways are an easy left or right out of the tunnel. Good Luck!!

This past August after my family and I crossed at the Ambassador Bridge getting onto I-75 South was easier then we thought because the signs were clearly marked.

It depends when you are crossing but last March on the friday of March break it took us 1.5hrs to get across the border. This year I'm crossing at the Peace Bridge and I have never waited more than 10 minutes tops.

Last August when we crossed the border into Detroit we did it around 6:30 AM and waited around 10-15 minutes, so this August we plan to get there around that time again or even earlier.

We took the bridge at the end of December on the way to WDW, and we crossed over to Detroit with no wait at 8 p.m. GPS and signs pointed the way to I-75 south with no problems.
Coming back was a bit more tricky. Signs pointed the way, luckily, as GPS got totally confused. It was a bit more of a challenge, but not too bad. No wait to cross back into Canada, at 4 p.m.

Depending on where you're coming from, Sarnia is always the recommended crossing by all my husband's associates. He's a professional truck driver, btw.

I-75 is still a disaster. And if you are driving down, ALWAYS go around Atlanta on the by-pass...even in the middle of the night, it's a nightmare to go through it.

I've gone across a few times this fall, and have had no problems. Things have been very clearly marked. Messy, yes, but fairly simple to follow, and I get stressed driving through Detroit.
