Windows at Space 220?

Curious if you get reservation for Space Restaurant do you for sure get a booth next to a window? Or is there a chance you are sitting elsewhere? Thanks

No, there’s no guarantee you’ll be sitting next to a window. However, no matter where you’re sitting in the restaurant you’ll have a good view at outer space. It’s everywhere you look. This is a panoramic I took from our table we were not next to a the windows D59B08BE-E4BD-43B9-A60D-24BC96522E21.jpeg

Ate there for the first time, earlier this month - amazing atmosphere, service, and food quality.

While I wasn't seated next to a window, for me it was an advantage - I had a view of all windows and could catch the 'activity' that happens from time-to-time in in each window.

I noticed a few instances where parties asked to be seated near a certain area/window and they were happy to accommodate. So it doesn't hurt to ask to be seated in a certain area.

As I was being escorted to the dining area, I mentioned I had heard about the 'space dog'. They happily sat me near the window where it shows up (the far left window) and I wasn't disappointed.

Thanks, did it seem more like parties of 3+ were at the windows more and tables of two not? or was there no rhyme of reason? Thanks

The benches on the booths next to the windows are quite long. They could easily seat three on either side. I didn’t notice smaller parties in them, but I also didn’t *not* notice smaller parties (if that makes sense).

As @SkyGuy mentioned, the width of the booths is pretty wide. The smallest party I observed at a booth was three people - makes sense because they have tables adjacent to the booths that accommodate two people.

Again, it doesn't hurt to ask to be seated at a certain area - the worst they can happen is they can't accommodate your request.

If it's helpful, I found that once I told them it was my first time eating there they really went out of their way to make it a best experience.

I can't say enough about the level of service and attention I received during my lunch visit. :-)

HUGE chance you are sitting somewhere else. MOST of the seats are not next to the window. Lower level is all restaurant with booths plus about two rows deep of tables, upper level half is restaurant tables.

When we went the booths were bigger groups/families (4+) and smaller groups were at tables. People seemed to be spread around but that makes sense to equal out the tables to servers. We were on lower level, farthest row from window and quite happy with it. We had full view of the windows we wouldn't have had were we next to them.

Just like in Coral Reef, most tables are not on glass or even glass level.

Hmmm... How were the tables different from the lounge seating? My friend wanted the restaurant to be by the windows, but if that isn't happening??

I mean I will go but she's the science teacher who it's more important to her than me. lol

Well the upper level basically half is restaurant and half is lounge ... they differentiate by color of table I think, white lounge, black restaurant. There are some great photos of the restaurant you can see layout. You walk in the middle of the upper level. I would have loved an upper level table on the rail but again, odds not good. We really enjoyed ourselves and the view was fine. We could see the entire view and all the objects.

This was our view ..

IMHO, the worst seats in the restaurant are the booths right next to the windows. We were seated there the last time we ate there and we could barely see anything. The better views are from the tables slightly away from the windows (we like being in the upper tier of the restaurant). I would advise asking for a table slightly away from the windows or trying to get a reservation in the lounge for a better view.

We were a party of 2 in January and were lucky to get seated at a booth right in front of the window! Thought it was very cool.

Thanks so the lounge considered too far, or good enough?

Lounge is excellent and it guarantees you won't be right next to the windows. You also get to choose from the lounge menu and/or the prix fixe menu, so you have some flexibility in ordering as well. I've eaten at Space 220 three times now and will only book the lounge from here on out.

Not true. Look at the windows to the right on the photo. That's where we sat and it's legit just black space and sometimes a thing floats by. But you can't see the earth at all.

Then that just shows to OP that she doesn’t need to be sitting next to the window for a good view. Good to have another perspective as we were sitting on the far right as well (near the bathrooms) and could see everything from higher up. Thanks.

These are from our trip. The first one I had to get up from the table and take the photo the second is the pitch black view we got. This was one of the only things that flew by. Horrible view and experience.

We just got back and went to the Space 220 lounge on our last night in the parks. Our ADR was for 8:30 (the only time I could get) but we ended up loving it. By 8:45 many of the people there were leaving to go see the fireworks. Even though we were seated at a table right near the bar, we had an almost unobstructed view of the entire set of windows. Food and drinks were good too.
