As far as I know the DLH does allow room decorating. We went in Dec of 07 and I took a tiny Christmas tree and had it decorated with lights and tiny Christmas ornaments. I also made our family Disney stockings and hung them on the wall with some of those removable hooks and they stayed up for the whole time of our trip. I put the tree on the little desk and plugged the lights into the outlet that is on the lamp. So I don't see them having any issue with the doors or windows.
I wandered over to the WDW side of the board a while back and discovered an entire thread about people decorating the outside of their door and the windows with lots of things brought from home. Even for non-holiday times. They used things like lights, posters, signs, stuffed animals, clings, etc. I was pretty amazed and never heard of this. It must be something that tends to be a WDW thing. Either that, or I just haven't been paying attention. I have to say, I haven't been over to the DLH in years so maybe I just never saw it.
That's probably the same thread I say and got my wheels turning I' thought decorating the big windows (if we get a park or DTD view) with some real big things. I was also wondering about the door. I wonder if the DHL would have a fit if I were to decorate that. It would be a lot easier for everyone to know which room is ours.
Call and ask. I went on a cruise with my mom, sister and daughter and we decorated the outside of our door. It was a lot of fun to turn the corner onto our corridor and see that door that was decorated. It was easy to not miss. 0

I saw that people did that also and the doors are magnetic so it was alot easier to put things on. And it seems to me that other people didin't mess with the decorations, very respectful and enjoyed looking at them themselves.
I just thought it would be cool for the kids and the grandparents (kids don't know that their are coming)
What did you did you do to your door? Do you have pictures to share?
No, I've actually never even thought of it nor have I seen it done! It's a cute idea, though. We usually fly down with carry-on so my space is limited for things like decorations.
I was thinking just having the kids color some disney coloring sheets, bring some crazy bright garland and maybe some other printed clip art. Nothing real big like stuffed animals or the like.
If you were going to decorate a door, how would do it??
QUOTE=Tasscrapper;31144022]I do have pictures. I'll try to figure out how to load them. If I can't do it my hubby will know how so I'll get him to do it.[/QUOTE]
that would so cool. Thanks. Did you do this at DL or WDW?
