Is there any benefit of one over the other? Or is there someplace else I should look? We are looking for a 3 bedroom condo for the last week in June and I see a few at the palms that are great price wise, I'm just scared to commit, lol.

They're both very nice resorts, and both were built by Pulte Homes. Windsor Hills is brand new, built in 2005, Windsor Palms (I believe) is 14 years old (roughly). Windsor Hills is slightly closer (not much), they're both very close to Disney. You might find some better deals at Windsor Palms due to the age differences, for instance. Windsor Hills is just a newer and more updated version of the same resort. Both consist of 2/3 bedroom condos, 3br/3ba townhomes with splash pools, and 4/5/6 bedroom pool homes, in a gated community. Both have gorgeous pool / resort clubhouses, now personally, I'm biased towards Windsor Hills, but then I own townhomes there!

Windsor Hills seems to be the new "hot" resort to stay in at the moment, it's becoming "discovered" and everyone has been raving about how much they loved their vacations there! Until recently, it was so new, I think it was virtually undiscovered and a truly hidden "secret", but at least here on the DIS, the secret is out! Even so, by renting directly from the owners, you're cutting out the middleman and can find some incredible, gorgeous homes at very reasonable rates, we loved our vacations there SO much 2 years in a row we bought a place last summer! (And we looked at homes in Windsor Palms too). It's very hard to go "wrong" there...since it's all so brand new, it's hard to find a bad home in a brand new resort!

It has the best of the private home rentals and a true resort feel, and many homes have Disney themed rooms too if that interests you, many of the homes are just absolutely gorgeous, we had some of the best vacations there we've had anywhere ever!

To rent places there directly from the owners the best site is probably:
www.windsorhillsrent.com
or
www.vrbo.com works too!

Some of the many resort amenities include:
24hr gated resort community
24hr property management on call
Only 2 traffic lights / 5 minutes to Disney parks
Brand new multi-million $$ clubhouse
10,000 sq foot clubhouse!
Double olympic sized resort pool
Waterpark slide, lagoon style hottub
Lighted basketball
Sand volleyball courts
Tennis courts
Putting/chipping green
Free loaner sports equipment
High-end kids castle themed play park
Giant outdoor chess
State of the art fitness facility
Clubhouse with game room / arcade
Outdoor ping pong
Sundry shop / free DVD movie rentals
50 seat private high def movie theater
Shuttle service to/from Disney resorts
Close to numerous restaurants, shopping, more!

Let me know if I can answer any other questions, I know a lot about Windsor Hills, can't speak authoritatively on Windsor Palms as much, but happy to help or answer questions you might have! No need to be scared, the resort is absolutely gorgeous and the homes are all VERY nice, the condos are actually huge, slightly larger than the townhomes sq footage wise even, just 1 less bath and no splash pool, but they're situated right next to the resort pool, as I mentioned you really can't go wrong here!

Do some reading on the DIS, you'll find all kinds of rave reviews about the resort, and please, do come back and post the review of the place you booked and the owner's website after your trip so others can share in the "secret" too!

Thanks!!! I just found an awsome 3 bedroom at windsor hills for the same price as the one i was pricing over at windsor palms. the pool seems much better at the hills!!!

:cool1:

We have stayed at both and they are both great places. I prefer Windsor Hills simply because it is closer and the pool is slightly nicer - it's bigger and has a tube slide for the kids.

You really can't go wrong with either.

We just got back from our first trip to WDW. We rented a house in Windsor Palms for 4 adults and 4 kids (all under 7). It was so nice to have our own private pool. We never even got to the clubhouse to check out the big pool. We went through a rental company and they were very responsive to our requests.

I'm definitely going to stay at Windsor Palms or Windsor Hills on our next trip.

An owner at Windsor Palms would know more, but we're staying at a townhome that was built in 2003, so it's considerably newer than 14 years. :goodvibes We've found lower prices at Windsor Palms so that's keeping us there for now. We've stayed there several times. I'm sure we'll move over to Windsor Hills in a few years and try it out too!

We love Windsor Hills! It is very convenient to everything!!!

Happy Planning!

Windsor Palms was built in 2002-2003. I believe the last homes were completed around early - mid 2003. This means that there is no construction on the resort.

It is a great community, like a lot of them in the area, and they are all 5 mins to Disney.

We've stayed at both resorts and enjoyed each of them very much. They are both extremely close to Disney. The pool slide at Windsor Hills was nice for the kids but we used the pool at the home we rented more often. If I found the right house or condo at WP I wouldnt hestitate to book it. A lot of the community ammenities are the exact same.

We stayed at a 4 bedroom home in Windsor Palms that was very high end. It may be a few years older than those at Windsor Hills but we saw some on-line tours that showed homes with less features (tv's, etc.)

I think the important thing is to decide what you want or need in your vacation rental and try and find the best match. We really like both places and I don't think you'll be disappointed with either one.

Have fun.
