Reunion Resort (which hosted the LPGA in April) is by far the most upmarket community in the area (or at least the most upmarket which permits short term rentals). It's right next to exit 58 of the I-4 and you can be on WDW property in no time. It's not as close as the Formosa Gardens area, but it will keep you away from the tackiness of the 192. I hated it when we first started visiting, btw, but I've become very fond of it!

Reunion is a resort, rather than a sub-development. We stayed there in January and will be doing so again in October. I can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else in the Orlando area for the foreseeable future. The only problem is that, although it's huge and there are hundreds of properties, there don't seem to be that many homes available to rent. Those bookable through Reunion itself are prohibitively expensive and, at the moment at least, there are only a handful of owners letting their properties privately.

Hi, I would try homes in the Champion Gates area of Davenport. This is off I-4 and there are some really nice gated communities. The drive time is usually 10 - 15 minutes max. It is a very upscale area that includes the Omni Resort and Champions Gate Golf Club, a new Publix, restaurants etc all on your way to and from Disney. Good Luck!

I know, there are so few reunion houses offered privately. I have spent hour searching and have found around 5 or so. We are on a budget, not a tight budget, but a budget none the less. I want to book a home since booking directly through reunion is ridiculous! I think once more of reunion is complete there will be more listings, also as word spreads. Hopefully it will still be in my price range!! I so wanted to stay on property, but you really cant beat the villa deal. I think I would hate my family if I had to stay in 400 square feet with them for 10 days! lol
