Hi, 2 quick questions.

1. Are there windchimes for sale at WDW? If so, what kinds have you seen & where.

2. A friend said that there is a place to buy bonsai trees at Epcot. True? Anyone know prices? Thanks so much, Sbella

I'm not sure about the windchimes. I don't recall ever seeing any.

About the bonsais, I do know they sell them at the Japan pavilion at EPCOT in their main store. They prices vary though, depending on the tree. :goodvibes

We bought a bonsai tree years ago. Can't remember the price, but do remember how well packaged it was for our trip home. We bought it in EPCOT in Japan. Would love to say we still have it, but it died--due to our pour care of it. My mom swore for months it was just dormant. :rotfl2: We still laugh about that. Any time we see a dead plant, my husband and I say "it must be dormant."

I got a Bonsai kit at the Japan Pavillion in World Showcase last January and I believe it was like in the $10-20 range.

Thanks for the info. The prices are better than I expected! LOL at the "dormant tree". Having a bit of a brown thumb myself, I can relate!

Iv'e never noticed wind chimes, but as a person who collects them myself...I will definitely be on the lookout this time! I have seen the bonsai and they were reasonably priced, if i remember correctly.

There are LOTS of windschimes at DAK.... while waking to Kali River Rapids from Discovery Island you walk by the bus up a little further on the right is a small shop that sells all sorts of stuff like necklaces... but they also have a WIDE variety of Wind Chimes

2Xited4Disney- Thank you so much! I will definatly put that on our to do list.

LuvTheMagic985- I'm a windchime collector too. My nieghbors (thankfully) are windchime people too, otherwise they would hate me!LOL

Thanks to all that replied. :goodvibes

I know I have seen wind chimes somewhere, I just cant remember where! You can try these places, no guarantees. 1. The same Japanese store that you get the Bonzai trees from. 2.Inside the Mexican pavillion. 3. The village of Horambe in Animal kingdom(wood, bamboo).

Good luck!

I've seen windchimes for sale over at Animal Kingdom, back near the bridge to Asia near the pin cart.

party: I'm SOOOOO happy! I can't believe I've never seen them in AK. Thanks for this thread. (funny how something so simple can make ones day) I've been collecting them every place I visit. I've got bamboo ones from Hawaii to Central America...now I can add my favorite place on earth....DISNEY!!!!

LuvTheMagic985- You are welcome! I'll be down there 2/27-3/3. Maybe I'll see you at the windchime shop?LOL

Thanks again for replies. Sbella

BF would love to buy a Bonsai for his mother's B-Day while we are at WDW in Feb.
We will need to get it home on the plane (direct flight, should make it easier) and on the Magical Express bus to the airport. Is it packaged well enough for the journey? Also - have you had luck with a Disney Bonsai surviving?

Have bought several windchimes at AK at the mentioned place. They are made of bamboo and sound wonderful. Some are plainer than others. The one I bought my grandmother has a carved elephant on top and then 5 smaller bamboo chimes that hang below. Of course, she thought it was too pretty to hang out side so it is hanging from the ceiling in her living room. Sort of defeats the whole purpose of the windchime, huh? :confused3

I too bought some wooden windchimes at AK. I love the sound they make. It reminds me of the sounds I hear while at the AK and I can hear some on my AK cd. You will enjoy them. :sunny:

Sure hope we can find the windchimes in Japan this trip!!!! I have picked up several there and they are great souveniers. Eash time they start to ring in the kitchen window, I remember the trips. I also found one in China. My favorite one. It has a teapot at the bottom. the ones from Japan have the coin-like chimes. I have also seen some in Morocco. Those I have not picked up yet. Maybe this trip!!!! Will have to check out the AK and see what they have!! Thanks for the tips!

When are you going? They have wind chimes at Epcot during the Flower and Garden festival. We bought some last year.

Thanks for all of the replies. I am going to keep my eyes open for the windchimes!

slk537- We are going 2/27-3/3, so no Flower show for me (maybe next year!).

A little off topic... Where were all you windchime lovers a few weeks ago when there was a thread against windchimes? It got really nasty with people threatning to go to their neighbors and do physical damage to the chimes.. I was so upset I couldn't post! I love windchimes.
