wind blowin',sun shinin',Soarin'on a magical celebration!April/10: Final thoughts!

What a fun filled day. Poor Ashton. We have had melt downs too. It's so hard not to when they are extra tired and over stimulated. Thank goodness for Granma's soft heart! LOL! Gotta love grandma's!

I'm surprised the Up characters were stil lthere. They were there in March of 2009 too. I thought I had read they left, but I guess I'm wrong.

Love the swimming photos. Sometimes it takes something like that to happen before it really sinks in with the little ones. Glad you found the perfect souvenir. :)

Hey! Jen
the UP characters left in May of this year; the Toy Story3 characters took their place...we just caught them which is why I just had to wait even with the melt down...

Love the swimming photos. Sometimes it takes something like that to happen before it really sinks in with the little ones. Glad you found the perfect souvenir. :)

Thanks! Kathy
my new problem now is that he is learning to swim so getting him to wait my be a new problem in the future:scared1: although I think he knows to swim to the side (if not mom or dad is never far behind :thumbsup2 )

I'm sitting pricing out vacays
(a girl can dream can't she) anyway I wanted to remind you guys to price all the options out there (although I'm sure you are)
for the same week; pricing the mods and the POP
by pricing the room only discount and adding tix and DDP
and the free dining
for the mods it was $200 cheaper to book using the room only discount and add tix and dining
now for the value I did not price out the DDP difference but I will...I had put in the DDP and not the DDQS deal which is the free option for the value...

I am soooo trying to talk Danny into going in Dec this year...don't think it will happen but you never know...
if I forgo the DDP altogether and just do OOP like we always do I'm sure I can get a little more attention out of him:rotfl2:
I'm thinking I could probably talk him into the cruise my parents are going on in DEC just don't know it I want to do that...although it is a cheap one I think it was $300 for Danny and I and about $190 for Ashton and it would be the same for Dayne if we were nice enough to take him along:rotfl:

:goodvibes Great updates!!! I love the photos with the Up characters.
I think it is awesome that you are thinking of going into nursing- there will always be a need for nurses.

Connie,
I am currently in school to get my RN. I think that is a very good choice. Good luck it is hard work but I think it will be so worth it. Flexible schedules and good pay. School was definately easier the first time I was in college. Too bad I changed my mind on what I want to be when I grow up.

I think that nursing would be a perfect career for you.:goodvibes

Ashton got a shock jumping in didn't he:laughing:. I would have let my kids do it too. They have to learn, one way or the other.

For october I priced out the vacation every which way and found that POR was cheaper by about $300 by doing the free dining than using the discount and then adding dining. Of course, if I dropped the dining and just got the discount on rooms it was about $250 cheaper than free dining, but I doubt we could eat on $250 for 5 days (well not if we had table service meals). It is fun to price out "what if" vacations.

Way to go on going for it and riding Mission Space!! :cheer2: I think I anticipated it being much worse than it is and scared myself so much that I couldn't enjoy it. I should really try it again.

That's so great that you're planning to go back to school! I agree with some of the other posters on here. So many of my friends that recently graduated with education degrees are having a hard time finding a job because the teaching positions just aren't there. I would say nursing is a lot more reliable.

I'm glad to hear Ashton ended up loving the souvie he got at POP! :goodvibes

Somehow I missed the last update. Poor Ashton, that face he made in the pool said it all. Like you said though, he now knows that he must listen to you and wait before jumping in the pool.

I'm glad to hear that Ashton was able to find just the right souvenir. That can be really hard to do when there are so many choices at Disney.

Great update Connie! Bummer you guys missed Buzz and Woody, but the UP characters are so cute too! It's always so hard when they fall asleep in the stroller, sometimes it's great and other times they are in worse moods! I am glad he rebounded and then got some cool Toy Story guys too!! Gabe has a set like that and plays with them a lot!

I haven't done laundry on a Disney vacation yet either. If baggage fees keep going up, I may have to though to cut down on expenses! Looks like swimming was a great day to cool off! I can't wait to hear about your evening in Magic Kingdom!! What day was it? We saw Spectro and Wishes on Tuesday night of that week! Great pics as always!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Great pictures Connie. Thanks for sharing. Hope you all get to go back to the World in December. If so, you can pick me up on I-12 along the way.:lmao::lmao::rotfl::rotfl:

Yay! All caught up!

I'm so sorry to hear that Dayne is not enjoying college. Hopefully he'll meet some people and snap out of his "I hate school" funk very soon!

Good for you :thumbsup2 for riding MS. I can't bring myself to get on that ride. The fear of being motion sick is just to great! ;) The rest of my family loves it though. I usually use the time when they are riding to get pics of the monorail and enjoy a frozen beverage! :)

I wish we had been able to meet the UP characters. They look so cute! I'm glad Ashton perked up and enjoyed the meet and greet!

The pictures of Gwendolyn and Ashton in front of the fountain at Epcot are beautiful! Nice job! :thumbsup2

Poor Ashton jumping in the pool and getting his face wet....:sad1: I can see that he was none too pleased!

Good news about Gwendolyn's new house. I'm jealous! I would love to move...this house is just too small for my rapidly growing boys. :crowded:

Can't wait to hear about your last night!

Oh...and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Danny approves a December trip!

Thanks! for the encouragement...I am thinking that I have decided to start in the fall when Ashton starts...I am trying to get him into a school out of district so I want to see where he ends up before I choose which school I should try to enroll in...

Thanks! Ashley he was so excited and funny that afternoon and just a little impatient...

I really did enjoy Mission Space; I was so happy that I did. I had been wanting to ride it for soooo long!

My biggest fear now Lisa is that he thinks he can swim without a vest now (we have been working with him over the summer) and he is doing great but not quite there to my comfort level...

We have not flown yet so if we drive again I think I will def have to pack enough shirts for each day instead of laundry time on my disney time...

Thanks! Missy on the kind words on the pics and such...
Dayne has been attending his English and Math; but, appears to be on the road to drop his Humanities and Business mgt...I guess he is taking the most important subjects and it is helping him to see it is not as bad as he thinks!

I price "what if" trips all the time too! ;)
it is so much fun to dream!

with the laundry done, Danny and Ashton refreshed we were off to catch a bus to meet up with mom and dad to watch Spectro and Wishes (we had missed it on Sunday...so, since we did not start our trip with Spectro magic I thought what better way to end with it)...

We boarded the bus without much of a wait...when we arrived at Magic Kingdom I had called mom to see where they were. They had just finished eating "chicken" at cosmic rays (you know I wonder when my dad ate chicken again after this trip--I am going to have to ask him). They had secured a spot in front of the castle waiting for the nights events to start...not where I would have chosen but it was really pretty crowded already so it was no big deal...we had a excellant vantage point! just hard to work our way out afterward...

as we were walking up main street Ashton had seen someone with a hot dog and by all means HAD to have one! so after we found mom and dad Danny walked over to Casey's to get Ashton a plain hotdog (all he eats is the weiner-no bread :confused3 )...

while we were waiting Daddy went and bought Ashton a flashing sword (Ashton loves swords) as my dad went to hand it to him, he looks at my dad and screams (in a really not very nice tone) "I don't want a sword, I WANT A HOT DOG!" there was a lady standing on the side of us with her grandchildren and almost fell on the ground she was laughing so hard...she asked my dad what was the matter with him...buying that baby a light sword instead of a hot dog :rotfl2:

when Danny made it back Wishes was just starting...Ashton sat in his stoller (did I mention it was a pretty cool night) scoffing down his hot dog; you would never know he just at a slice of pizza in the room half hour or so before. Well, we looked down at him to ask him what he thought and he was
"OUT"....we could not wake him up for nothing... he missed Spectro, I was so sad he missed it. I know he would have really enjoyed it...

so, with that I'll share what shots we did manage to get of the night...

continued in the next post....

we had not seen Spectro since 2001 and my camera does not do it justice but it was so beautiful! I really wished Ashton would have seen it...just another reason for us to go back soon...I know they have changed it and I can't wait to see the new one I just know it has to be beautiful with all the color added...

I thought I had some videos from Spectro but I must not have downloaded and now they are lost...OH! well...

as we left in the mass of the crowds Danny and I worked our way to the front outside the turnstiles and waited for mom and dad. As we approached the bus loading area we were in for a horrid suprise...

I have NO IDEA WHY DISNEY DID THIS... and I still think who ever came up with the brian storm needed to be out there helping security help...
someone in all thier genuis decided to have EVERYONE load the busses at one bus landing...:scared1::sad2:

needless to say POP was the last bus line...people were just cutting and pushing...how a riot didn't start is amazing...I almost ended up in a knock down...people would walk right in front of the stroller (I was walking in the middle of the platform as slow as I could) but, they would side step in front of you STOP and low and behold the wheel caught their heel...I never said sorry so much in my life....
well, Danny is barking at me behind me and I got short with him and said I was trying to keep moving and some lady looks at me and says "well, you are doing a great job running over me" and well, you know I had to tell her that if she would not have stepped directly infront of me and cut me off the stroller would not have caught her...ugh...what a horrid way to end the magic. I felt so bad for telling her that I got sick to my stomach I could not get to the POP fast enough...

up next our last two days at Universal/Islands of Adventure...and
how much can you eat Dayne?!?

Hi Connie! :goodvibes I love what Ashton said about the sword and the hot dog. Sounds just like some little girls I know. Right after Lindsey's first BBB visit, there she stood on the stairs of the Mexico Pavilion all BBB'ed up, screaming at the top of her lungs that I didn't love her and was so mean because I wouldn't buy her a noise maker inside the temple. I just laughed at her and let her have her meltdown (she was 6). I just kept thinking to myself, you are upset that I won't buy you a $5 trinket and I just spent $200 turning you into an ingrateful princess. REALLY??? :lmao: Kids, right?

She would never do that now, it was just the age and immaturity. Anyway, I'm sorry that people were rude while you were exiting. We have had a stroller incident or two ourselves. We figure, if you're rude and stupid enough to cut off a stroller, you deserve to get banged into. ;) Don't worry about it girl. Hope you have a great weekend my friend! I miss ya!!

Sorry Ashton missed Spectro. All the poor boy needed was his hot dog and some sleep!:rotfl2: My kids do the same thing when they are tired, scream for food. Some attitudes you just have to chalk up to being exhausted.

Horrible idea on the buses by disney. Getting out is bad enough, but to have every bus in one location:scared1:. Speaking of strollers, I ran over a few people, not on purpose, but I don't think some realize how hard it is to stop a stroller, especially one that weighs about 80 pounds with 2 kids in it. I know I must have said alteast once (or three hundred times) that if you step directly in front of a stroller you deserve to get run over. (all under my breath, of course.)

Yay for universal up next!:dance3:

Connie, WOW!! What a night huh!? Too bad Ashton missed Spectro.... we are missing Spectro too because of the ELP and I am not sure how I feel about that!? Myles slet.pt thru Wishes once and I was so amazed that he could just sleep thru all that noise.

Leanne- your story cracked me up !!!!! I am glad it isnt just me with the ungrateful kids (and meltdowns!!!)

Connie, sorry I missed this update last night (went to bed early because I had to have Mark at the hospital at 6 a.m. for his heart procedure today). I think your pictures of Spectro turned out fine. I'm sorry about the bus situation (this is one of the many reasons we prefer to drive to and from the parks...don't have to deal with that at the end of the night).

Can't wait for the next update.
