BP has a contest. You win you get a $1200 BP gift card for gas...... but they call it a year's worth of gas.

Hmmn... that will get me about 7 months... how about you?

About 7 to 8 months in Germany.

I could probably stretch that to about 9 months, but that's pushing it! And I don't even drive an SUV!

That could get me almost 10 months. I did fill up when gas was cheap over the weekend. I ran to it because it was a grand opening and it was $2.17!

I never thought I'd say that $2.17 was cheap! And I'm in a state where its illegal to pump it yourself, so they pumped it for me.

I wonder why it's illegal to pump it yourself in some areas? I haven't used a full serve station in many, many years!

I sure would like to win that contest. Gas is such a big expense for us this summer.

my vehicle only it would be a year. With DH's vehicle...we could maybe get 5months.

NJ and another state, I think Wyoming, (but I could be wrong) it is illegal to pump your own gas.

I can't remember the reasoning in NJ, but I think the politicians said something about creating jobs, etc... Anyway, all stations are full serve so at least I feel that I am getting something out of it for the price.

It would actually last us about 16 months for two cars. We live in such a small town it only takes DH 1 mile to get to work and I don't leave the house at all. $10 in my tank lasts a month and $60 would cover him for a month.

Now when we lived in Atlanta...

OMG! Am I ever jealous! $1200 would last me about 5 months, just for my car. I probably spend about $60/ week on gas. And this morning when I filled my tank it was $2.39 for regular!

6 months for both cars, but we would have to drive out of the way to get to BP....

ditto- I'll estimate I spend around $60 a week on gas. (or every 10 days)
that would last me 5 months.

I just filled up yesterday, 2.44 a gal (medium grade - and I drove right by the cheap place - d'oh!) and it cost me 36.42

I drive 60 miles, round trip, each day to work - not counting side trips...which is why I like to get everything 'done'..on my way home from work...saves me a trip out.

Where do I register...... :flower:

I use about $138.00 a month and I have a 4 mile commute each way to work (I do go home for lunch). That's about 8 months for me.

I remember reading about your house when you guys put the floors in, but I didn't realize you stayed at home! You go girl! I can work from home periodically, but what I wouldn't give to telecommute daily.

$1,200 in gas would last me, alone, less than 5 months and I get 30 mpg in my car.

That would last us about two months, if that. I only fill up my van once a week but my husband has to fill up his truck 2 or 3 times a week.

Do you know where to go to sign up? I suppose you would have to go to a station? I couldn't find anything on thier site.
thanks!

I figure that would last us 7-8 months. I take the train to work, so I only fill my car every 2-3 weeks. DW is a stay-at-home mom so she only drives around town during the week. Other than vacations and the occassional weekend road trip, we don't drive around much otherwise.

The problem is, there are no BP gas stations near me, so the card wouldn't do me much good! :)

At the stations, I believe.... I only heard a radio commercial.
