Williamsburg va

We have frequented the Disney water parks (even in the past year) and while Disney might have the upper hand as far as theming-if you look past all that--a great slide is a great slide! One reason we were able to have so much fun was the lack of crowds. If Water Country is having a busy day I am certain the experience would be much different.

I go to Water Country a lot (mainly by myself to lay out as I hate sand :) ). I agree that Water Country is a great water park, when it's not crowded. Many locals (even during the week) hit up Water Country from opening until 3-4 in the afternoon, making it a lot less crowded from 3-8 p.m.

Where do you find the online schedule? I have a brochure from eariler this year with the weekly schedule for that week, but can't find anything online and I'd love to be able to see what's going on when we are going to be there before we get there.

Thanks!

and http://www.history.org/visit/eventsAndExhibits/calendar/ (be sure to put in your dates and check off the programs you are interested in seeing--when in doubt leave them all UNchecked and EVERYTHING available will pop up for you)

Hope this helps

Here's a link to events happening from Virginia Beach to Williamsburg (essentially called "Hampton Roads"). It seems like from April to November we're always having festivals :):

I hope you have a great time here and don't get stuck in a lot of traffic ;)

Thanks for adding this sight. People usually think about historic Triangle (yorktown, williamsburg, jamestown) then Norfolk/Va Beach. But there is a lot to do in Hampton and Newport News also. Unfortunatly they are not beside each othere but there is a nice Air and Space museum in Hampton as well as other museusms all over. Norfolk has a nice botanical garden w/ a fun kids garden that has water play in it.

we were there in June for 5 days and had a great time, I actually thought I needed 1 more day. We saw CW (1 - 1/2 days), BG (2 nights and 1 full day) and Jamestown (1/2 day). We never made it to WC.

That said, my only complaint at CW is on the horse drawn carriage ride. IMHO it was a big wast of 50.00! I expected the driver to talk to us and at least point out some things on the 30 min ride. Nope, he answered a few questions but it was like pulling teeth to get anything out of him! The only thing he willingly said was when he corrected me about the role of a blacksmith vs a ferrier. I later observed that none of the drivers said much as the carriages were passing by, I guess I expected to much.

our guide at the Palace was wonderful by contrast, a joy to listen to.

take a look at my last post on this thread for some BG food info:

I also wanted to add that at Yorktown beach on Friday nights, until I think September, they have free concerts that are very popular. People bring chairs/blankets and coolers and there's lots of families (and a very expensive Ben & Jerry's if you want a treat :) ).
