Williams Family Live (ish) Trip Report

What wonderful little touches to make the holiday start so well. I'm so thrilled for you all.

I've only just see that you live in Milton Keynes - so do we! We moved here 5 months ago and really love it! We are in Orlando in December, so if you need anything bringing back, I can do that for you.

Pam

Wow, how cool. We're in Galley Hill. What about you?
Thank you, that's very kind of you.
If there's something you want that you can't wait for December for, just let me know.

Sounds fantastic and you sound just like me....I have also saved so hard to take my DS7 and DS4 to the most magical place on earth and it sounds like your boys are as excited as mine!

We leave in five days and your post has just increased my excitement levels! It's great to hear you're off to a great start and I hope you continue to have a wonderful time!

I hope you don't mind me asking hut how have your boys been with the jet lag? X

No jet lag for my boys. They've been just fine. Phew!

Phew, feels like we've been here for ages already and we've only had 1 day.
We woke quite early (about 5am) and chilled out for a while.
Had breakie and then got ready for DHS.
We called a taxi (Yellow Cabs / Mears) and it arrived early which was lovely.
We had a nice driver called Joseph who we've decided we will use for our holiday.
We travelled to WDW and Oliver was so excited when he saw the sign at the entrance.
His little face when he saw the Tower of Terror was amazing.
It was quite busy there but we managed to get done Beauty & the Beast, TOT, Backlot Tour, Great Movie Ride, Star Tours, Lights Motors Action Show, Muppets, Little Mermaid.
We did a little bit of shopping too.
Sadly Oliver who wanted to go on TOT got too scared in the queue.
He was desperate to go on it but he's only 5 so I'm not sure that he will.
Oh well, gives us an excuse to come back again when he's a little older. :rotfl2:
It was really warm.
With there being 7 of us it was quite stressful at times keeping everyone happy, so I think we're going to split off into smaller groups at Magic Kingdom tomorrow.
Today is a pool day, food shopping and then we're off to play golf later at Fantasia golf whilst my Mum and Nephew do some shopping at Downtown Disney.
Weather is fab, lovely and warm and sunny.

So kind, but we can hang on, thanks so much! I had to get routefinder to find out Galley Hill! We are still finding places and areas. We are along the A5 at Ashland. My daughter works at MK1 near the Don's stadium.

Continue having a marvellous time.

This trip was booked 18 months ago and hubby and I have worked hard to save for it so it felt wonderful to step out into the warm Florida sunshine.

Loving your trippee. Also good to know that someone else is also having to work hard at saving, I don't feel so alone now :goodvibes

Phew! Been so busy having too much fun I haven't found chance to update this for a few days.

Day 2 we had a rest day, and spent some time having a swim and we stocked up the cupboards at Publix which is huge and just across the road (literally).
Then after a lovely chicken casserole that my Mum cooked we headed off to The Swan and a few of us walked over to Fantasia Mini Golf which was great fun.
We were just across the road from DHS so we could hear Fantasmic!
Mum and Sam went to Downtown for some shopping and a quick go at Disney Quest.
We joined them there after golf but my littlest fell asleep so we came straight back, but it was gone 9pm so he'd done really well bless him.
Oliver wanted to stay at Downtown as it was really bustling but we had to get back to put George to bed.
The weather has been lovely and warm, I can't imagine the weather at home right now.

Day 3 was Magic Kingdom.
We arrived late as we'd been up the night before and I wanted to kids to have a lay in.
We later found out this was a good idea as it had taken some people who'd arrived at opening time over an hour to get in!
I think we got there about 10:30am.
It was very busy but we found out that as it had been Columbus Day the day before a lot of the schools over here were still closed. We heard a lot of people saying how busy it was so we're hoping when we go back next week it might be a little quieter.
It was a bit hectic with 7 of us and we've found that we cover more ground when we split into smaller groups.
Anyway, we headed straight for Buzz which had a 30 min queue, got some fastpasses for Space Mountain and then headed over to get some fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain but decided just to join the queue as it was 60 mins. We were expecting it to be longer.

Mum and Sam went on Haunted Mansion.

After that we went on Small World, then PhilharMagic and then the parade.
Oliver’s face when he saw Peter Pan was a picture.

After that Oliver and Sam went on Big Thunder Mountain again, and my parents took little George on the riverboat.

Then we split up again and Mum and Sam took the boys on Flying Carpets and Tiki Room whilst me, DH and Dad went on Splash Mountain. I got pretty soaked but after an hours queue it was quite welcome.

Then we were all feeling quite tired, so we went to Tomorrowland, had a bite to eat and my Mum and Dad had a nice sit down whilst we went on Space Mountain.
We took George on the little monorail thing which he loved and DH took Oliver on the space rocket thingys (sorry I’m tired and can’t remember what anything’s called – LOL!).
We danced with Goofy, Stitch and Pluto and then had another quick go on Buzz before getting our spot for the fireworks, right at the start of the park.
My boys loved the fireworks. Their little faces made me blub.

The music and the emotions that run when the fireworks are on are just so amazing.
I always feel so lucky when watching them.

As soon as the last firework went off we dashed out, got pretty much straight on the monorail, and straight into a Mears cab back to our apartment.

We sat up until midnight chatting which was really nice.

Day 4 – Aquatica and Sea World

Not too much to say about today.
We went to Aquatica and my boys weren’t too impressed with it, so me and Sam went on Dolphin Plunge and 2 of the little boat rides and then me and Mum took the boys to Sea World, where we went on some of the rides in Shamu’s Happy Harbour and then saw the Polar Bears, and the Shamu Show.

A really hot sticky day today but nice all the same.

We’re sitting having Fajita’s tonight in the apartment, and tomorrow is waffles, syrup and strawberries for breakie and then Epcot.

Day 5 – A lazy start and then Epcot
No rush to get up this day and we had a delicious waffley breakfast.
Got to Epcot about 11:30am and all the Soarin’ passes were already sold out.
We split up from my parents & Sam, and DH took Oliver on Test Track which he loved whilst George and I went on Nemo and saw the Crush show. We also met Dale.
We also went on Spaceship Earth.
We queued up to meet Mickey, Minnie & Goofy and Duffy the bear and then met up with everyone.
Then Mum, Oliver, Sam and I queued up for Soarin’ which was 1 hour, whilst DH, Dad and George went on Nemo and saw Crush again.
They also watched the Lion King show in the Land.
We all met up again and split off from Mum & Dad, whilst me, DH, Sam and the boys went to get a bite to eat (more Nuggets for the boys!) and we ate in China and had some delicious Shrimp Noodles and beer/cocktails and then met up for the fireworks.

Day 6 – Animal Kingdom
An early start today to get to Animal Kingdom for 9am.
Straight on Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids as neither had more than a 10 min queue.
Then over to Kilamanjaro Safaris which had an hour queue.
After that we split up and went to Lion King show, met Donald, Chip n Dale, and then Bugs Life, before the parade which was brilliant. My boys were right at the front of a really small section and got lots of high fives and waves from the characters.
Their little faces make it all so worth while.
After that we got the bus to Downtown. They are trialling out a bus direct to Downtown after 3pm, rather than having to go via a Disney hotel first.
We ate at T Rex which was delicious. It’s a lot like Rainforest but with Dinos rather than Gorillas etc.
We then popped into Disney Quest for a little while before meeting up for our taxi home.

Day 7 – Sea World
Mum and Sam decided to stay behind today so we went to Sea World with Dad.
It was a really sticky day.
We went to see the Dolphin show, had some lunch (I have never seen a 2 year old enjoy corn on the cob so much bless him), went on Sky Tower and headed over to the kids part of the park so the boys could go on some rides, then watched the Shamu show.
Dad and I went on Manta (15 min queue) and then DH and I went on it.
I’m not sure if I liked it or not! LOL!
Then we left Dad to go on Kraken and Manta (he went on 5 times – no queues!) whilst I took George round some of the animals and Oliver and DH went on some more rides.
Seeing Shamu close up through the glass is so moving. They are amazing creatures!
We met up at the kids rides after George stripped off and had a splash about in the water.
Then we met Dad at 7pm and headed back to the apartment.
We got a Chinese take away and then went for a lovely night time swim.

It was a little scary last night as I got up to check the boys and George my youngest was missing.
I ran into Mum & Dads room to check if he was in their bed and he wasn’t so I flipped out, but then DH found in all wrapped up in his duvet down the other end of his bed. My heart was pounding!

We've been here a week now, still 2 weeks to go! :cool1:

Off to Typhoon Lagoon today....

Great updates, seems the weather is quite hot still so it can be hard going, but you seem to gave done a lot already :)

Are you enjoying the apartment at Vista Cay?

Thanks for the update, sounds like the boys are having a fantastic time. Bet 'losing' George was:scared1:

Good heavens, that week flew by! Hope the weather stays good for you, it's still quite warm her, but not Florida hot!
