William Shatner Roast

I watched this yesterday and missed the first 10 minutes and there was something that bothered me the whole time. Why exactly was Farrah Fawcett there? Has she ever worked with Shatner? Anyone have a clue?

I saw the whole thing and I guess they just had her there because she is such a joke. It was very sad. She is unrecognizable and never seems to know where she is or why.

No idea, I looked them up together on imdb and it appears they've never worked together.
Agree with barbeml, she was just this year's "train wreck." Last year's was Courtney Love; they made a few references to that this year (but at least she was actually friends with Pamela Anderson).
There were many awkward moments in this roast and Farrah Fawcett was involved in most of them.

Best joke was by Lisa Lampanelli when she said that Betty White was so old that the grand prize on her first game show was fire.

That roast was hilarious. Both Shatner and Jason Alexander definitely have a good sense of humor. I LOVED the way George Takei handled the roast, especially his "I've waited 40 years to say this....."

Yes, Farrah is a train wreck. I pushed 'pause' when she was on the screen simply to stare at how badly she ruined her beautiful face with all that bad plastic surgery. She used to have a phenominal, perfect smile - almost ear to ear. She did something to her cheeks that has left her smile in sort of an oval shape. Very disturbing in a Kenny Rogers way.

OMG- that show was just so funny!!! I couldn't believe that they were allowed to say some of the things they said.

Okay, good I'm not missing anything then. Her "roast" was horrible. Not only was her bra strap constantly falling down - just fix it and stop fiddling! - but she was laughing at her own jokes so that she couldn't deliver then. Sad thing was that they weren't funny at all.

I stumbled upon it half way through I ALMOST called DS15 to come in and watch it with me (we've been watching Star Trek re-runs together), but I listened to a bit of it first. Some heavy guy I've never seen before was making the most vulgar comments imaginable about some woman who was there. That's the LAST thing I want my teenaged son to hear! So I turned it off.

Maybe she appeared on an episode of Star Trek or T.J. Hooker (back in the day). Maybe she's a neighbor of his or a Bill stalker. She is just plain weird. I would have only watched it to see him

Loved the roast of Shatner! But then we love all of the roasts of celebrities. We thought Greg Giraldo was hilarious!!!

Anyway we thought it was hilarious and I thought Farrah looked like she had drank too much and smoked something that Courtney Love slipped to her. She was waaay out there and not funny at all.

I missed the roast! I always liked WIlliam Shatner. I used to listen to him on talk shows, and he'd be asked about these horrid things his Star Trek colleagues used to say about him, and he'd just say the most diplomatic and wonderful things about them in return. He would never stoop to their level. I thought he was great and had a great sense of humor.

About Kenny Rogers: YES!!! I saw a picture of him recently and my dh and I didn't even recognize him. Not a bit! My dh was convinced it was someone else!
