I want to ask my girlfriend to marry me on the balcony of the Magic Kingdom. Does anyone know if that is possible?

I don't think so, although you should search for poster SPINDISC he got the CMs to help him out a lot - it was swell! :thumbsup2

If you are thinking Cinderella's castle I do not believe that they allow it. Disney used to have a Fairytale Engagement group. That group doesn't exist more unless it got revived recently. I have seen proposals in the rose garden or at Cinderella's Royal Table. I know that some people have used Gifts of A Lifetime for their proposals. They are expensive but they have great ideas and it takes the pressure off of you and they will set up everything for your agreed upon event.

One option might be to have a MK photoshoot, the photographer could possibly get you onto a balcony, or another romantic place within MK. And you would be able to get the whole thing captured on film :goodvibes

Good idea, but you need to have already booked a WDW wedding to be able to do the MK castle photo shoots. You can book other photo shoots during the day at the parks and some resorts, but if you want the proposal on film I think your best and most economical bet is to ask a CM or Disney Photopass person beforehand and set it up with them.

Some ideas that I've seen on here that I think are neat are:
-Book a Wishes or Illuminations Cruise and propose before or during the fireworks
-Propose on the beach of the Poly during Wishes
-Go on a Horse Carriage ride at FW and propose then (I love this one!!)
-Propose at the Rose Garden by the castle
-Propose by the wishing well at the castle
-Book a proposal dinner at Cinderella's Round Table (they will bring the ring on a glass slipper I think!!)

Good luck! I'm sure whatever you choose will be wonderful!! :goodvibes

I think that Disney Photography used to do a honeymoon session at the MK. It may be worth looking into. It would be a great way to get some pics of the actual engagement to share with family back home.

If you time it right the the wishing well is great. I proposed there last year the week of thanksgiving. The area gets roped off during fireworks so we just waited and watched the fireworks down near the snow white story telling area. It was perfect, right after they opened the area back up we walked up and since the fireworks just ended people were still all grouped up so we had the area pretty much to ourselves our for about 12-15 minutes (really surprised me) Its a very romantic area at night, the lights on the castle cast just enough light to make a ring sparkle. ;)

Really? Anyone know anymore about this or possibly who to call?

Hubby and I got married in Vegas in May, even though I've always dreamed of a Disney Wedding. We're honeymooning there in August (college students, had to wait until the summer semester ended) and I would LOVE to get some pictures taken! :lovestruc

no idea, but if you want to do it in the magic kingdom here is an idea. I got it from a friend of mine that just did this two weeks ago. Don't know exactly how he set it up, but he proposed to her at mickey's house in toon town. When they went to go meet mickey, mickey got down on his knee to ask her to marry him... I guess they had minnie mouse there and she acted all mad since she's been waiting forever for him to ask her. Besides the usual photographer they also had a CM there to also help video tape the entire thing....

That is a HUGE no-no. Those performers could have gotten reprimanded or even fired for that. I am a former entertainer, and we are in no way shape or form allowed to be there for a proposal. I was working Liberty Tree Tavern on Valentine's Day when a man proposed. The characters chould not be anywhere nearby. We were appraised of the situation and afterwards went up for a photo shoot and to offer our congratulations, but we could not be anywhere near when it actually happened in case the girl said no.

The other thing is that that is out of character. Minnie always is and always will be Mickey's girl. While Mickey may flirt and joke around from time to time, that kind of behavior is not in his nature.

Please do not risk the jobs of the CMs for your proposal. I'm going to give the CMs the benefit of the doubt and say they may not have known the rule. I didn't learn it until the aforementioned LTT proposal, so it is possible. However, there is a very strong likelihood that they at least got talked to about it afterwards.

If you want characters as part of your proposal, arrange to be at a restaurant or somewhere nearby so that you can take picture with them after, but realize that they cannot be there during the proposal itself.
