Seriously - Who Doesn't Love Mickey Mail?

I think I was just commenting on someone's TR (Sheree's maybe :confused3) that I wanted one of these and look what I got in the mail today.

So cute. I changed it for the retro feel.

I think I better enjoy it because its going to be another year until I stay at a Disney resort. Oh wait - unless they send these after a Hilton Head Island Stay.

Anyway - I am hoping for a quick back to back update to get this TR wrapped up. So I have to decide - Edit more Soccer pictures or DIS update? What to do? What to do? :confused3

Ummmm...I vote DIS update!!! :coffee:

For some reason, I really love the upclose picture of the lamp. :thumbsup2

What a bummer about the lion sighting. I don't know why they are always near impossible to see. If you are ever visiting the Northwest FL region, the Gulf Breeze Zoo here has some of the best views of animal exhibits I've ever seen. The Bengal Tigers are so close that I almost got sprayed by one once. :crazy2: And right now they have a new lion cub that is completely spoiling my Safari experience at AK. :rotfl2:

Sometimes, a nap is the best thing you can do at Disney. And after the trip you had, I am amazed this was your first one!

HAHAHA... your purple tinted pictures made me laugh. :rotfl:

LOVE LOVE LOVE the AKL pictures! I'm just in love with that resort and I've never even been there in person!

Hahaha, nap time is a necessary evil sometimes! Hopefully yall woke up feeling refreshed!

I am very impressed with the start to your day! I can't even imagine how early you got up in order to run and nearly hit rd! Course... without young ones to get up and get going, maybe it makes it easier?

I love your EE pics. This was my first year that I have rode EE. I can't believe how much I love it. Course, I don't love it enough to do single rider...so I am with Denny!

The purple safari is interesting. ;)

:cool1: For the mama duck and her family!

I chuckled at your bite before the picture at Boma. I have done that so many times. Just so hungry... food goes in my mouth before even thinking about it. Then I remember the pic. :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear about Sanaa.

And congrats on the nap!!!

ARG! You make me want to be back there tight now! :) you got some fabulous safari pictures. On my last trip I hardly took any.

Love getting that Mickey mail :)

Oh I got one too. LOVE getting Mickey mail.

It's such a nice little customer service touch. Smart, too, because by the time you see it you are ready to book another trip! ::yes::

Ummmm...I vote DIS update!!! :coffee:

I am seriously considering one, although I usually don't do two so close together. But I really want to get this TR done. Not that it hasn't been fun writing it, but more because I don't want to drag it out too long!

For some reason, I really love the upclose picture of the lamp. :thumbsup2

Thanks. I'm not sure which is your favorite because I took a lot of light fixture pictures in this update. I started doing that after I saw another DISer do it. Light fixtures are something I would normally not notice. That is until I started getting into photography!

I hope I do get a chance to visit that area of Florida someday. That zoo sounds amazing. Well, everything except the tiger spraying. Yikes! :scared1: Seeing a new lion cup must be really amazing. wow!

And those stinking Disney world lions....I have been on the Safari more times than I can possibly count and I have YET to get a decent picture of the lion/lioness. I feel terribly unlucky in that respect. I see so many great pictures here on the DIS and I'm like :headache: I didn't even ride it in October because I'm at the point where all I really want to see is the lion. Otherwise - ho hum.

Sometimes, a nap is the best thing you can do at Disney. And after the trip you had, I am amazed this was your first one!

Hard to believe, right? I may have doozed off for a few minutes at the pool, but this was my first real nap and I totally needed it.

HAHAHA... your purple tinted pictures made me laugh. :rotfl:

Aren't they ridiculous? Seriously, what was I thinking when I put that purple tinted lens on? :faint:

LOVE LOVE LOVE the AKL pictures! I'm just in love with that resort and I've never even been there in person!

Really? Never? OMG - you really need to go. You will die when you see it in person. It's gorgeous. So different from all the other resorts. And, yeah, you really can't beat the BLT location, but the 2 BR villa at AKL is hands down gorgeous. The master BR is killer and the theming is great. I hope you get to check it out on one of your future trips.

Hahaha, nap time is a necessary evil sometimes! Hopefully yall woke up feeling refreshed!

I woke up feeling wonderful. A little guilty that I slept away 90 minutes of the day, but refreshed and relaxed and ready to hit the pool.

I am very impressed with the start to your day! I can't even imagine how early you got up in order to run and nearly hit rd! Course... without young ones to get up and get going, maybe it makes it easier?

I really wish I could remember what time I set my alarm. Maybe 6:30? I obviously did not take the time to wash and dry my hair that morning. I am actually still impressed that we made it on time. But I was trying to go big for our last day.

I love your EE pics. This was my first year that I have rode EE. I can't believe how much I love it. Course, I don't love it enough to do single rider...so I am with Denny!

:rotfl2: No single rider for you either? :rotfl2: I'm so glad you tried it. Isn't it great? It's got just the right amount of thrill factor! I can usually do the ride twice in a row, but I have to sit the third one out because that backwards part makes me a little dizzy.

The purple safari is interesting. ;)

Interesting! :rotfl: Nicely put!

:cool1: For the mama duck and her family!

How great is that? I am still so impressed that so many of those babies survived. I think its awesome and such a testament to the power of mother nature and survival of the fittest!

I chuckled at your bite before the picture at Boma. I have done that so many times. Just so hungry... food goes in my mouth before even thinking about it. Then I remember the pic. :goodvibes

You have no idea how many times Denny has to remind me to take a picture of my food. I am usually so impulsive that I forgot. So yeah - I took that bite without thinking. :rolleyes1

Can't wait to hear about Sanaa.

I will tell you this - I took pictures BEFORE I started to eat. :rotfl:

And congrats on the nap!!!

Thanks. I so needed that nap. It felt great!

We got one of those from our last trip too. :) They are so cute and its nice to get Mickey Mail after the trip is over!

On my October trip I didn't even ride the safari, so I've got you beat! :rotfl:

What - no pictures? - could it be that you were just a little distracted by your trip mates. Just sayin' :rolleyes1

ALove getting that Mickey mail :)

Isn't it fun? It's the next best thing to being there!

We got one of those from our last trip too. :) They are so cute and its nice to get Mickey Mail after the trip is over!

That must be a new thing they are doing because I got one in June! I think its a great touch and great PR. It makes you want to book another trip the second you open it! :thumbsup2

We got this in the mail yesterday too! LOVE IT!

ETA - after reading your last update: Oooh, a Boardwalk hidden gem? Undiscovered secret? I am intrigued!!!

Duck family! I love love love ducks, and not just Donald. Hahaha.

10 after 8 is a pretty impressive arrival for EMH. For morning I normally clock like 30 minutes after the fact if I'm lucky.

I'll have to remember that the Good Eats sign at AK means a good egg and cheese panini. :thumbsup2

Hey, Purple Safari would be a great name for a drink....or a band....:rotfl2:

"Definitely not our Dino!"

Seriously, I take naps in Disney all the time. I'm just lazy I guess. :lmao:

Purple is one of my favorite colors! Loved the pics!

I really liked seeing the pics of the Boma breakfast! I'm really looking forward to this ADR for Maroo, Mackie and myself. :goodvibes

Look at all that yummy mixed in with the good for you yummy! :thumbsup2 I probably won't be drinking the juice, but I'll save those calories for something bread like. ::yes:: :lovestruc

So sad this is your last day. :worried:

I bet y'all make the best of the rest of the evening after you had your nap! :thumbsup2

Mary Ellen - yes it was me - I think it was on FB though. I think it's so cute!! It's going in the scrapbook!

DIS UPDATE!!! DIS UPDATE!!!

I am worse on dragging out the TR than you! I'm still doing my March trip! One more full day left though. Maybe I can do it before Thanksgiving. I'm still debating about doing one for the October trip. Although there was a LOT to report on !!!

Wow, okay, so I somehow missed your TR in these past few months that I have been on DISboards, and was so excited to find your incredible TR a few days ago. I'll be honest, I was also a bit afraid...117 pages! I wasn't sure I'd make it through, but I decided I wouldn't grade any of the papers I need to grade or do any laundry or clean any bathrooms this weekend, and instead just read. It was an excellent choice--thank you for the entertaining TR. It sounds like you had a great trip, despite the occasional awkwardness with family--and how rewarding to turn your brother & his family into Disney fans!

I'm headed to WDW for a family reunion (my husband's family) in February. We all have separate rooms, but we'll be spending lots of time together in the parks, so it was good to read about some of the friction points on your trip! Hopefully we'll be able to all get along!

Thanks so much for sharing your trip--helps me pass the time till Feb! (77 days to go!) Guess I'd better go do some laundry so the kids have clothes to wear this week... :) :laundy:

Loved the purple hue pix!!

Thanks Rosie! I still say purple and safari DO NOT MIX! :rotfl2:

We got this in the mail yesterday too! LOVE IT!

I know - isn't it great? Serious marketing genius. I can't wait to book my next stay! And its not much longer until I can book my October 2013 stay! :woohoo:

ETA - after reading your last update: Oooh, a Boardwalk hidden gem? Undiscovered secret? I am intrigued!!!

Well, you are a BWV veteran so you probably know about this. But it was a total surprise to me! I love discovering new cool things about Disney!

Duck family! I love love love ducks, and not just Donald. Hahaha.

Aren't they awesome? I can't tell you how getting that picture of the ducks totally warmed my heart. So cool! Well, if you love ducks you are going to love my MNSSHP costume!

10 after 8 is a pretty impressive arrival for EMH. For morning I normally clock like 30 minutes after the fact if I'm lucky.

We must have made it through bag check right after 8am. Pretty psyched that we were up and out that early in the morning!

I'll have to remember that the Good Eats sign at AK means a good egg and cheese panini. :thumbsup2

It was really yummy and pretty reasonably priced, too! I wish I had known about those sooner. It really hit the spot!

Hey, Purple Safari would be a great name for a drink....or a band....:rotfl2:

I vote for drink, although its still not as creative as "Lost on Safari". I do like it for a band, though! :rotfl2:

"Definitely not our Dino!"

I LOVE that line!!!!! I use it all the time at work. No one knows what the heck I am talking about, but that surely doesn't stop me. :rotfl:

Seriously, I take naps in Disney all the time. I'm just lazy I guess. :lmao:

Not like the Europeans........:lmao: Wait - you must get that trait from your dad. :rotfl: If I could fall asleep easily during the day I would take more naps. I just have to be REALLY tired.

Purple is one of my favorite colors! Loved the pics!

:rotfl2: Oh Camille - you sure know how to make me feel better about my purple safari foopah!

I really liked seeing the pics of the Boma breakfast! I'm really looking forward to this ADR for Maroo, Mackie and myself. :goodvibes

It's SO good. You will love it, I'm sure. I didn't try anything to fancy / exotic. I just stuck with the basic breakfast fare and it was wonderful.

Look at all that yummy mixed in with the good for you yummy! :thumbsup2 I probably won't be drinking the juice, but I'll save those calories for something bread like. ::yes:: :lovestruc

That's so funny you would say that about the juice because I have this motto about never drinking calories unless alcohol is involved. :rotfl2: I never drink juice, but I threw caution to the wind because I was so darn thirsty (probably from my run and the heat that morning).

So sad this is your last day. :worried:

I can't believe its the last day. The trip seems so long ago. I do want to wrap it up because I would like to get to the October TR!

I bet y'all make the best of the rest of the evening after you had your nap! :thumbsup2

We really did have a nice evening. We finished up the trip on a high note!

Mary Ellen - yes it was me - I think it was on FB though. I think it's so cute!! It's going in the scrapbook!

That's right - it was on FB! And I commented that I wanted one. I'm so glad I got one (even if I do have one from June).

DIS UPDATE!!! DIS UPDATE!!!

I think the soccer pictures may have won out, simply because it takes so freaking long to upload them to the shutterfly site we use. It takes more than twice as long than uploading them to photobucket. I have no idea why. It's quite the order deal - make a folder - copy it, upload to shutterfly, upload to photobucket. Ugh! But I'm getting there.

I am worse on dragging out the TR than you! I'm still doing my March trip! One more full day left though. Maybe I can do it before Thanksgiving. I'm still debating about doing one for the October trip. Although there was a LOT to report on !!!

Oh - you MUST do one for October. There really IS a lot to report on. The funny thing is all the days are totally running together for me. But I know Cynthia will keep me straight when I get confused. She's pretty on top of things.

:welcome: nanhol! Thanks for joining in! And thanks for reading my entire TR. I hope your family doesn't disown you for not cleaning the bathroom or doing laundry this weekend.

It is really wonderful that my brother and his family are now official Disney lovers. It's pretty cool!

I'm headed to WDW for a family reunion (my husband's family) in February. We all have separate rooms, but we'll be spending lots of time together in the parks, so it was good to read about some of the friction points on your trip! Hopefully we'll be able to all get along!

I hope you have a wonderful trip and that everyone does get along. I think the most important thing is to be flexible and be willing to go to the parks at different times. Or at least know what everyone's expectations are in terms of arrival time. That way everyone is on the same page.

Thanks so much for sharing your trip--helps me pass the time till Feb! (77 days to go!) Guess I'd better go do some laundry so the kids have clothes to wear this week... :) :laundy:

:rotfl2: Darn laundry. You can run from it, but you surely can't hide. :cool1: Woohoo for 77 days (who's counting, right?). I hope you have an awesome time and that the next few months pass quickly.

I enjoyed touring a purple safari through your pics. :rotfl: Definitely a new perspective! But truly, I loved your pics in the mirror, what a cool idea!

I have to say, I'm shocked it took you this long to succumb to an afternoon nap! I need one desperately by day 2!! :lmao: Those are the best naps, when you are truly, totally, completely exhausted and you just knock the heck out. Now with Paxton along for our trips, that happens for me almost every day of our Disney trips. :rotfl:

Yeah - purple safari pics ARE a new perspective. That's for sure. :rotfl: I stumbled on the mirror picture quite by accident several years ago. It's fun to see what results I get while bouncing around in a safari vehicle.

When my kids were little I used to love to take naps at the same time as them. But ever since then I have had trouble taking day time naps. I really did need to get knocked the heck out. It was great!

LOVE all of the "purple animals and you got great shots of the giraffe up close.

LOVE Boma for breakfast; even if I didn't love the food, I'd go just for the Jungle Juice.

I've decided that a nap at Disney is not a bad thing at all. :goodvibes
