Will you book a dog friendly resort?

I'm a never say never type of person, but I probably won't.

I would imagine, most people will be out in the early morning walking their dogs before they hit the parks. That's when I like to walk the resort paths. Since I'm not interested in encountering dogs on my walk, it doesn't make any sense for me to book a dog friendly resort.

Will not stay at a DF resort. I already have a neighborhood full of annoying dogs and equally annoying dog owners. I vacation to get away from the area.

Might be misinformed, might (more likely) be semantics. I think sometimes people use "dog" and "pet" interchangeably.
Trained service animals are something entirely different.
Some guests don't wish to stay at a pet resort, but they totally understand the access given to trained service animals at all WDW resorts.

Oh I know what you're saying. But there have been multiple posters throughout the various threads who have said something to the effect that they don't want to stay where a dog has stayed at. There was even one who was like "if I find ONE hair.."

People I think generally understand the difference but not everyone who makes a comment about potential issues with dogs at the resort is understanding or even aware (or wants to be aware) that some of those issues existed before the new policy (dog hair from a 'don't want to deal with standpoint' to an allergy standpoint for example) but like I said to maxiesmom my honest thought is before the new pet-friendly policy came around it probably wasn't even on someone's radar that a service dog may have slept in the same room that the guest was now booked in. That's me coming from a practical viewpoint.

I've dealt with a night club 1 floor down from me in Hawaii (though it was for only 1 night), a noisy highway somewhere in TN, construction in the floor above me for a week everyday hammers and drills, etc in Vegas, a hurricane in WDW and I couldn't tell you how many times kids have run down the hallways, or the child crying or screaming or the doors closing..honestly I think the doors closing might be my #1 annoyance since just about nowhere can you avoid that..oh oh I forgot...hearing footsteps on the floor above me (a personal reason why when I was living in apartments I chose the top floor). Dogs, while they come with their own noise concerns, is far from the most annoying noise I could deal with in a hotel room for me personally.

Oh yeah! BUT I have to admit I may or may not be the person waking up at 2am to go to the bathroom --sorry about that if I could make the toilet quieter I would..but I promise I'm careful about how I walk so I don't sound like a stampeding elephant and I close the door quietly

I would prefer not to stay at a DF resort but it took a great deal of time to figure out a good deal in January with the PSD offer. We are doing a split stay and go figure its POR and YC, so I was disappointed to hear after we booked that they are both part of the trial. But we will go with the flow. Our family doesn't have any problems with dogs (although we are more cat people).

Lol! I know that toilets can’t be helped. That’s more on WDW plumbing & thin walls. Just adding to the list lol!

Kimpton Hotel chain went dog friendly. Their intention was to always block rooms as zero-pet. Problem is, it just never works out that way in hotel business. They bend and break rules all the time. So after a few years of being dog friendly, they eventually have dogs in every room no matter how much they promise allergy sufferers pet free rooms.

The thread would be most likely to get locked if people get into arguments day after day. As of yet I haven't seen arguments.

No and I cancelled my reservation at the Yacht Club due to it. Disney is being very naive in thinking it will not affect guests that do not bring a dog. My dogs will be well taken care of at home, I think more of them to bring them to Disney where I am too busy to spend time with them.

How many times does it all have to be said? This is the third poll on the same topic (maybe fourth, I've lost count). With the exact same arguments being made as in the 3600+ post thread I closed this morning, or the other several threads on the same topic, often by the same posters. With (yet another) service dog debate.

Enough. If you don't want dogs at your hotel, call Disney and tell 'em.
