I don't think I can stand it anymore! Does anyone have any info? What on earth could be taking so long? (can you tell i'm just a little excited about a new place to eat?) BTW I thought it was funny that when I made ADR'S in May or June that the CM had no idea of what I was talking about when I ask about Y&Y!:confused3

I wish it were going to be open while we're there. I also think it was a really bad idea to close Tusker House at this time. They totally should've waited until after Y&Y opened so that we'd at least have it as an option until then...

I sooo agree !! What on Earth were they thinking, closing a good restaurant months before opening the other one, and at AK to top it off where there are so few options to begin with.

As I posted in an other thread, we'll have 4 options when we go in October :
- Pizzafari
- Flame Tree
- McDonalds (restaurantosaurus)

RFC is the 4th option however it does not accept the DDE or the DDP (we use DDE).

And you can't even say that you'll just hop on a bus and have lunch at a resort TS because the only resort that's not 20mns away is AKL - no lunch!

I'm really running out of ideas for this one. We completly skipped AK on our last trip so I don't want to do that again, but I also don't want to be stuck eating frozen chicken nuggets from McD. :sad2: As for WDW pizza, thanks, but no thanks.

I'm not a fan of Disney pizza either, but the Italian sandwhich at Pizzafari is very good!

Thanks, I didn't remember it being on the menu. DM should like that and I'd be fine with just breadsticks.
I think you just solved that problem for us, woohoo!! :thanks:

when did tusker house close? that was actually one of my families favorite places to eat! never even tried anything else at AK because nothing else sounded good and we were always hearing such bad things about everywhere else. great! we go this weekend and then again at thanksgiving, maybe Y&Y will be open by nov.

I too am disappointed about the closing of TH. However, when we were there in July we did not have time to walk back to TH and get to the show we wanted to see so we tried Flame Tree. My husband had a huge slab of ribs and I had a yummy turkey sandwich. I plan to go there again in November.

BTW I called yesterday about Y&Y...not open and not taking ADR's. CM could not offer anything on a possible opening date. Just that she did not have it in her system.

According to Deb's site its scheduled to open 11/14. Three days after we leave, of course.

I'm another one frustrated at the loss of TH and we're going before Y&Y too.

One possibility for us would be to eat breakfast, grab a hearty-ish snack at around 11 and leave the park by 1:00 for a CS lunch at DTD.

A big problem is pleasing our group. Personally nobody is too pumped about McDonald's at Disney. My sister eats no red meat and hates BBQ, even the smell. My mom is generally not happy with a light sandwich for lunch at the parks.

Also, all the women and my son have hypoglycemia so we have to watch carbs and take in enough protein.

If it's bad for sugar levels, it looks like McDonald's is our best choice. (just feels like a 'wasted' dining opportunity to me because I'm at Disney)

OK - enough whining from me. No matter what - we will find something to eat somewhere!!

Sweet! That 3 weeks before our scheduled December trip!! Those ADRs are going to go like hot potatoes!! Any word on when we should start trying to make dining arrangements there?

BTW, sorry it won't be open for your trip, Dawn...

Thanks. We'll have to wait until next summer to check it out. Hope its worth the wait! Haven't heard of anyone being able to make reservations yet. Hope its soon for everyone else's sake.

November 14th is what I've heard.

they've closed to remodel into a table service/buffet (I think) restaurant.

They should reopen late this year, I think.
