Hi all,

Will the taping of Who Wants to be a Millionaire increase crowds that weekend at MGM? Thanks.

i was wondering the same thing... just to be safe (and to have a chance to see the show!) we switched our mgm day from saturday to sunday...

Probably not. The people there for the tapings will be busy with it most of the day so crowds shouldn't be too much larger. Perhaps Fantasmic! will be a bit busier than usual

i did some research... there should be no impact on crowds due to the taping... the contestants will be in before the park opens and leave after it closes... fantasmic is at 7pm that night and i believe the taping goes 'til 8 or 8:30 pm...

Can anyone confirm that the taping goes this late? We have tickets for 4:00 on Friday...I also made ADRs Whispering Canyon (Wilderness Lodge) and now I'm afraid I might not make it. Say it ain't so!

I went to a taping with Regis Philbin a few years ago and they were literally begging people off the street to fill the audience. They ended up using castmembers to fill in spots. I think the taping lasted about 2 hours.

I can't confirm with certainty that it will run that late as it varies. However, I can tell you that last year the Walk In and Win Week tapings, which are on Saturday the 14th this year, ran very late. I was on call as a phone-a-friend for the last contestant to tape. She didn't reach the Hot Seat until 9:30 pm. The taping ended a bit after 10 pm I think.

Generally speaking, the tickets cover tapings of 2 episodes of the show and that takes around 2 hours. Hope that helps.

Any links for info on the walk in and win? Nothing listed on Who Wants... page.

There is still some information on the Millionaire page the last I looked. Are you looking at www.millionairetv.com?

Also, I have a message thread on the DIS that has a fair amount of detail. Look for the thread titled "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire - Walk In and Win Week".

Thanks Rob. That wasn't the site I visited. I'm out. No Disney Transportation, no shorts,no jeans, and no Metallica shirts. Plus if I did get lucky enough to be picked from the 1,500, it would burn the whole day away from the family. Oddly enough we had planned on going to MGM on the 14th cause of the hour early.

Aww, man and here I was thinking I'd totally wear my Metallica shirt. ;) (yes. I do actually own one).

The one rule that *kills* me is the "no solid black blouse" rule. I think I own a total of *one* top that isn't black. I guess I'm wearing it!

Rob, that does help. Since it starts at 4:00 and it's not on walk in and win day, I feel a little bit better about our WCC ADRs for 8:30. Even if it took 3 hours instead of 2 I'd be OK. Thanks for the info!! And GL if you're a phone a friend again.
