Do you ever start to plan something and then begin to doubt just a little bit of it? Then in no time you doubt the whole thing? Well that would sum up me. This is the trip that was almost cancelled a zillion times. Oh and by the way the kids don’t have a clue about this.

Here is our cast:

Me- Brandin, 28 mother, daughter, wife, ex-wife (but that a whole other “trip report” :confused3 ) friend, and scrap booking extrodinar. I grew up Disney….my Mother loves the mouse so naturally I love him to. Can’t begin to know the number of times I have been but it upwards of 20. I work full-time in a stressful job and run like a mad women when I get home to soccer, volleyball, dance ect…..It never ends. I am looking forward to some Family time. ( I am sure that statement will come back to haunt me…lol). I am the planner, the scheduler of all so no doubt I have planned this trip.

DH- Wes,37- Great man, who loves my girls like they are his own. He is a pilot and always seems to have his head in the clouds (literally) He plays golf, coaches the girls sports team and really does a great job raking leaves….He has never been to Disney…… :guilty:
Go ahead and gasp…its just not right. He is looking forward to the trip but I don’t think he has any idea what he is getting into.

DD-Sydney, 7- She is my thoughtful, quiet, and stubborn child. She loves sports as she plays Soccer, Volleyball, Basket Ball, and Softball. She does not care for the “frilly” girl things like dance and ruffles. Give this one a pair of jeans and off she goes. She has been to Disney once, she was 4 ½ and actually remembers some of it. Her favorite princess is Sleeping Beauty and thinks Stitch is “disturbing” :lmao:

DD-Piper, 4-She is my Diva…no doubt. Dramatic and demanding but at the same time extremely loving and sweet. She loves her fake babbles and putting on clear lip gloss. She takes dance and gymnastics but hates soccer because it gets to hot. She thinks Ariel is the queen of the world and fireworks are the devil……(hmmm this should be interesting.) She has been to Disney once and will argue with you till you are blue in the face that she never has been, even though you have the pictures to prove it.

So that the crew………Interesting bunch we are….
:dance3:

The When:

That one is easy. We leave December 31st for sunny Orlando. The dates of the trip were mostly determined by a few things.
#1- I got airfare for $39
#2- I refuse to go to Disney when it is hot
#3- The crowds thin out by the 3rd
#4- Heck….why not
So we will be there from the 12/31 thru 1/7…. YEAHHHH Now where to stay…HMMMM

Also here are some pictures of us

So when dealing with an individual who has never been to Disney how do you convey to them the difference in rooms choices….Well good luck with that one…He only sees the word “Cheap”…I see the word “comfort” So most people will compromise….well not us…it has to be a big debate. I want AKL or POR he says no way. So he pops onto the Disney official site and see the rooms at All Star…I say no way. No offense to anyone that loves this place I just do not. I think it is mainly that I have stayed there several times and just want something different. So after much debate and my failed attempts to pout (not a good look for anyone) I come to the conclusion that “hey he’s never been, let the man have a say in at least one thing) So he decides on POP. And Pop it is.

Now I was not real excited by this until I started reading on the DIS boards about it. I have read a lot and now I am actually looking forward to staying there……

Now as I said before we leave on the 31st. Well we do not get into Disney until the 1st.. I have been to MK on NYE and as God as my witness I will never, I repeat never be anywhere near the parks on that night. We are going to be staying at a Holiday Inn Express and taking it easy before the fun begins.

Now I know you are wondering about the title so I think it is time for me to tell you all about it.

First off, I have come to the conclusion that my life is like a soap opera…its never any fun unless there is some drama. When discussing this trip we decided that it would be the girls Christmas Present (the major part of it, not the whole thing) We thought it was affordable and doable….we thought work would be slow that time of year….we thought we only owned one dog….

Okay that sounds good?............. right ….wrong…. :sad2:

Sounds good so far.
Just once in my life, I would love to do a NYE somewhere. Then I can say never again. Where do you guys live?

Sounds like a good trip coming up.... how many dogs did you end up with and why?

So in all fairness to the situation we bought a house in June and lets just say it has been a time with the whole thing. Have you ever seen the Movie Money Pit, with Tom Hanks….well that’s us. :sad2:

So after we have the airline tickets secured, the room booked (not a package, never thought they saved me as much as the deals I could find.) and begin my planning. I find you wonderful people and I am in Disney heaven. Well about mid October things are going well all the way around , no drama….I should have seen it coming. I get a call at work from DH and he says that I may want to come home….I ask why and his reply……
“ The guys (remodel crew) were working on the master bath and tore out a wall” UMmmm they were not suppose to tear any walls out…..Oh but just like any drama it gets better…….they also tore some of the floor out. :sad2:

So Disney seemed to be the furthest thing from our minds….here we are going to have to pour a lot more money into something we had absolutely not budgeted for….. So we talked, I cried, got mad and proclaimed…..

WE ARE NOT GOING TO DISNEY :furious: :guilty:

Now we all know that I really did not cancel the trip as I would not be writing a trip report.

Have you ever seen a grown women throw a fit? It is not a pretty sight. Poor DH. :sad2:

For days I sat and would pick up the phone to cancel the reservation and I just couldn’t do it. Finally DH comes to me and we talk…like most civilized people do, and we make a plan…..

WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY…..again. :cool1:

See its like a soap opera….to bad I don’t have the babbles to go with it.

So life goes on….and I order a passporter….YEAHH….love it…..and then I sign up with TGM…..great sight….and DH thinks I am crazy and threatens to cancel the trip…..no not really just thought that would get your attention.. :dance3:

Its getting closer to Christmas and my Dad ask me one day if I could go and look at a Puppy for him that he wants to get my Mom for Christmas. (they had one for over 10 years that died about a year ago.) It’s a Golden Retriever and of course I say yes……big, huge mistake……..

Oh its coming.....I am trying to build up suspense... :confused3 :lmao:

OhMari- We live in North Carolina. NYE to me seems to be the most overated thing. The cost to go anywhere to do anything is ridiculous. JMO
