Will we survive 4 in a AKV value studio?

I'm going to be the lone voice of doubt.

We are a family of four (kids 10 and 12) and we always stay in studios. We've stayed at AKV in a savanna view studio twice. We've got no problem staying in a studio - love the studios.

BUT - I stayed in the value studio at AKV last April with just the kids and as soon as I got back I changed my AKV value reservation for the whole family in June to OKW. It was very tight and I knew I'd be frustrated with a second adult in the room. It's extremely cluttered when the sofa is unfolded, and there's no storage space. We had luggage under the sink, under the bed, sofa cushions on top of the wardrobe - it was just very, very, very cramped.

I'm doing a value studio again with just the kids - but I'll never do it with 4.

Never lone voice - I agree completely

when the sofa bed is open - to me it was very hard even getting to the bathroom.

Personally we couldn't do it. I think a 1 br is too small for 4. Since my kids are boy/girl we need three beds or 2 queens to make it work and mom or dad won't do pull outs!!!!! Now it's up to you and your family if it's dooable.

My kids are boy/girl and sleep together on vacation all the time.:confused3

Personal preference. I don't like listening to the fights. I bought enough points for the 2br for this exact reason......

To the OP, I'm glad you made your decision, but I think a value room is actually smaller than a value studio. If you're paying cash for the studio, then I see going with the $$$ savings. Otherwise I don't see your logic. You're concerned about tripping over everyone in a value studio, yet think a room at a value resort will give you more room.... I've stayed in a value resort, with only 3, and that was tight IMO.

Sorry I was away from my computer for a few days. WDWorld 2003. I had a regular rate for Pop and one day I called to add Jan 1 onto my reservation and they told me the new 2009 rates were out and gave me the rooms for 82.00 per nite, standard view. My rate was I think around 109 like yours. I then asked if they had AAA rates and they did so that is how I got it for 78.00 per nite and that is with tax included. Try and call and ask for AAA if you are a member. Good Luck. We are staying for Jan 1,2, and 3, but we are getting two room since there will be 5 of us.

All Star Value resort studios are listed at 260 sq ft. AKV value studio is listed at 316 sq ft.
