Will we regret Alfredo's?

My DH and I have an ADR for Alfredo's in June.....he wanted to give it a try. We've already been to Le Cellier and Teppanyaki and liked both of those.

Now, neither one of us are Italian food experts....we usually frequent our local Olive Garden, but after reading some bad reviews, I'm worried.

Are we going to regret this place? Does anyone like Alfredo's?

It can really vary. Two years ago we thought it was great. Last december both of us got food poisioning and were sick for 2 days.
Service was also really rushed this time compared to last.

I'm sorry to say, but in the 10 years that I have been frequenting EPCOT, we have tried Alfredo's about 6-8 times and each time it was more disappointing than the last. They do change chefs frequently, so you may get lucky.

This is one restaurant that we now avoid. :stir:

we went to Alfredos for our first and last time in September. We were packed in our table like sardines and the food was so distgusting the thought of it makes me gag to this day.

I LOVE IT.... One of my favorites. Best Tiramisu I have ever had, and Top 3 Fettucinni Alfredo. I love the trio sampler which includes Lasagna, Fettucinni and something else (I was ga ga over the first two). Great antipasto platter as well. Absolutely wonderful place.

I have been many times and have never had a problem. I usually go for Lunch, so I have not experienced the packed house, but I could see that happening. However, I thought the food was great. It is always worth trying once.

It's one of my favorite restaurants. :thumbsup2 The servers are so friendly and a lot of fun. They love to ask if you're Italian or speak Italian. I don't feel that the tables are too close, but that's just me.
The food is delicious. I love the pasta e fagioli, which is a thick soup. It's very good. The salad with raspberrry vinaigrette is really delicious and so is the fettucine alfredo. I also love how they give you olive oil to dip your bread in. YUM! :)

I was reluctant to first try Alfredo's but decided to anyway and was so glad I did. I think you should try it out for yourself. :) A lot of restaurants that people rave about, I don't like.

Can't speak for you, but we were there for the first time in October, we love Italian food and we were not impressed. I can deal with the crowds, crowded tables, but the food and service were both seriously lacking in our opinion. If I had choices in Epcot, I would look further than here if I were you, but remember, food is very subjective. One man's worst dinner is another's best. The only way you'll ever really know is to try it for yourself. Good luck deciding and enjoy your trip!!

WOW, a lot of negatives. We ate there for the first time for lunch this past December and it was my husbands favorite place. I thought it was fine, our table was not unusually close to others and service was excellent. And as an added bonus they actually pronounced our very italian last name correctly and with such flair!! :teeth:

Alfredo's is very good. Great atmosphere, wonderful menu. Hubby and I loved it.

We had avoided it for years because of negative reports on this board, but after trying almost every restaurant in disney we decided to try Alfredo's. We loved it, and have been back many times since.

Keep in mind...Olive Garden isn't real Italian, Alfredo's will be more authentic, still americanized a bit, because people will complain if it isn't, but still much more authentic than Olive Garden. Go and enjoy!

Oh, and don't forget to have a bit of Limoncello for dessert!

We were there last week, and it was good. I had the Alfredo and it was not as good as it was last time I was there, but it was still good. My children couldn't get enough of it, they ate every bite. I can't remember what my husband had but he ate all of it. He is from Sicily and it pretty picky about what he eats, so if he ate it then it must have been good. We would go again.

We've had meals here that we've loved. However, the last time we were there (Saturday January 14, 2006), the service was so rushed and so poor that I doubt we will be eating here again for a long time. I realize that it was a Saturday night, but this is not a Couter Service restaurant, the prices are high and I think you should be able to have a reasonable expectation to have a reasonably relaxed meal.

I've eaten there twice, once in 1999 and again in 2001 I enjoyed my meal both times. The grilled veal chop was really good

DH, DD and I ate there in June of 2002 and really liked it. I will have to admit we are more the "olive garden " type too. No food experts here (although we look like it LOL). I had the trio and thought is was great. The service was good and our waiter was wonderful with our then 3 yo who was way over Epcot and just wanted to get back to the castle. He was always doing things to make her laugh and speaking in italian to her which she thought was hilarious and that he was crazy. I was surprised to hear all the bad reviews. Maybe we got lucky...give it a try it's the only way you will know. I do have to add I thought the tables were a little close together.

The food is OK, similar to Olive Garden, what got to me, is that my DD ordered lemonade with her kid meal, as she had done at every meal for 10 days, they kept asking her if she wanted refills, and of course she said yes, as she had done for 10 days, they charged us 4 lemonade at $2.00 a piece. I was not a happy camper, I kept joking that the service was really the same as in Italy, they did take it off the bill...

good, bad or indifferent, my DS has picked Alfredo's (we, well they, all get to pick one (and I pick the rest!!) as his must do. Any place he can get Calamari AND gnocchi's at the same time, he's thrilled!!

I thought the portions were ridiculously small for the price (and I'm not a big eater) and the food was just ok. The service was fine and the atmosphere was very nice, but I was still a little disappointed. That said, I could be convinced to go back just for the chocolate mousse alone! :teeth:

I ate there with my son a year ago and with my DD a few days ago. My son loved the food when we went and it was one of his favorite restaurants. My DD and I didn't like the food as well, but what we had was good (we shared a credit on the dining plan), but when the wait staff broke out in song it was fun. Loud, but fun. One of my favorite memories of this last trip happened there--when the wait staff was singing they got an older Italian man to lead a song dancing around the restaurant and then when they sang another song a waiter danced with his wife. She obviously had a great time and hugged him when the song was over. So sweet and touching to know that the dance had meant so much to her--I could see her remembering her younger days.

If you're used to Olive Garden I don't think that you'll be disappointed my Alfredos.

I've heard good things about Tony's in MK and Mama Melrose in MGM, but we weren't able to get to either of those places this trip.

I have never been --
However, I have used the bathroom in the restaurant twice. Each time upon entering the restaurant, I was almost knocked down by a terrible, damp, moldy smell.

If we had had PS for this place, I would have turned around an walked out.

Years ago, my parents took my brothers there and one of them got sick.

I would go back to Le Cellier or Tepinyaki. Or try Rose & Crown or walk over to the Boardwalk and go to Spoodles.
