Will we need a car?

We will be at the Embassy Suites South for 4 nights after our Disney cruise. We plan on taking ART to DL but my husband thinks we will still need a car. We would rent the car in San Pedro and return it to LAX. Is he right?

If you are planning on staying at the Disneyland Resort then you do not need to get a car. You can get the DCL transfers and they will give you transportation from the ship to a Disney Hotel and back to the airport. Or you can get PrimeTime shuttle (or one like it) to get from the ship to the hotel you are staying at and a shuttle to the airport.

If you want to rent a car, though, that is doable. You might think of getting Enterprise and they might pick you up from the ship & take you to their car rental place where you can get the car & use it.

Thanks for your reply but we are staying at Embassy Suites - not the Disneyland Hotel. We have stayed at the Grand Californian without a car with no problem but we have never stayed offsite before. They claim the bus from the Embassy Suites South only stops one other place and then goes straight to DL. Has anyone had any experience with staying at Embassy Suites?

The problem is that it's in the same parking lot is the Embassy, Hampton and Hilton Garden. So the bus was always filled beyond belief in the morning and there were always people left behind. In my opinion they did not have enogh buses. Ours stopped at one or two areas but one also had multiple hotels in the lot. Which was silly considering the bus could hold no more people!

That being said we enjoyed the Embassy. The room we had was spacious and clean. It was nice to have room service when you came back at night if you wanted. The staff was great when there was a earthquake too.
Of course breakfast is a zoo but they tell you the best times to go down to avoid such a huge crowd!

Thanks! I think we will try it without a car. If we miss having a car, we can always rent one.
