Will we make it? LL time and dinner…

Welp, like many posts before mine I have to report trying to get a paid LL for Rise this morning, only to have my time changed significantly by the time I paid for it! And I was lightning quick too! Selected 1pm slot, and by the time I checked out it changed to 5:10pm! And of course you don’t find this out until you’ve paid! This is such shadiness by Disney!

Well, we have a 6:15pm dinner reservation for Boma tonight. Do you think we will make it, providing Rise is working during our window? (It went down multiple times the other day when we were there). Do you think if we tapped in during the 5 minute early grace period, we would get done with the ride and be able to get to Boma via the Disney busses in time, or would we have to Uber to be safe? I’m so mad at Disney this morning! This system is seriously a joke.

I think it’s really pushing it. Maybe stop at GS and see if they can do anything. It’s early enough in the day that they probably could.
Hmmm. We’re not going to HS until late today I unfortunately. We’re probably not even getting there until noon. We needed a sleep-in day!

It would be easier to switch Boma. You can see if you can change your reservation. I see several 9 pm reservations for tonight.

I would stop by GET near star tours (less crowded).

I’m not eating dinner at 9pm. I’ll Uber if I have to. I read that they’ll hold your reservation for 15 mins past your slot. But yeah I’m not happy. This is a blatant bait and switch operation by Disney. Ticketmaster couldn’t get away with changing me to another performance or seat AFTER I paid…why is Disney allowed to get away with doing it? They need to lock times in once you select it for at least 30-60 seconds so you can check out.

My suggestion is to call the Tech support line and plead your case to see if they can give you an alternate time. I believe the number is in the mega thread for LL.

Not a chance. The blue shirts are your only hope. Good luck though... Mine told me to pound sand when I asked (9:30am time switched to 7:30PM).

So basically we won’t make Boma in time…and the guest support team won’t do anything for me…

Do you think if I booked an Uber right after we get off Rise that would get us there in time?

They might help you. I've seen reports of other people getting their times changed. The Guest Experience Team CM I went to (by the entrance to Toy Story Land) told me too bad so sad and tried to make me feel stupid for the change. YMMV.

You are assuming you will get on Rise right at the start of your LL time. What if it has a long LL line? What if it breaks down and you sit in there for 30 min waiting? Too many variables, includingnwhat if you can't find your Uber, what if he's late, drives slow, yadda yadda...

It's very very unlikely. Not impossible. Just unlikely.

They let you check in early. We've gotten in at 8:20 pm for a 9 pm (mobile checking lets you check in 20 mins early).

Are you willing to move your dinner back at all? If so I would just keep checking for a cancelation that works for you until you go to the park.

Also, if you are doing rider switch (we have done it many times with BG and LLIA$) it takes a good 1.5 hour to ride ROTR.

So essentially my options seem to be….let Disney get away with charging me money for a ride time I didn’t select and I go eat my dinner at Boma…or I keep the ride time I didn’t select and Disney gets to charge me money for a missed Dinner reservation. So either way Disney got to rip me off in some fashion today.

No, I’m not eating dinner at 9pm! That’s the only slots showing for Boma now.

I completely agree. I understand if you are dragging your feet for several minutes before paying---but the fact that you have to endure high levels of stress hoping your fingers and your phone work fast enough to get the time you selected or close to it is just ridiculous. We are doing Disney this summer (only because we had promised the kids we would go again--then the pandemic happened) but after this I am over it. The nickel and dime attitude and additional layers of stress Disney has added just isn't fun anymore.
