We're staying at the Boardwalk for 5 nights prior to sailing on the Disney Magic in June. We've stayed there before, but never got a BW view. We're doing a one bedroom. Any suggestions and are there any down sides to the view (noise etc)? thanks.

We had a BW view on the second floor just above the store and it was noisy.
The BW games were right there with horns and whistles going off. People do make noise when coming out of the clubs at night. If you are up on a higher floor, the noise might not be as bad. We have stayed at other views at the BWV and it has not been that noisy. We are going to avoid BW views from now on.

We loved it! Never heard a peep until we opened the balcony door, on purpose, to hear the music on the boardwalk. Especially in the morning, we just loved hearing the turn-of-the-century style of music!! We'd definitely stay there again!! Have fun.

Hi,
We stayed at BWV boardwalk view at Christmas and loved it! We stayed on the 2nd floor main level and even though we had a 18 month old the noise was never a bother. I though it was pretty cool to be able to see illuminations from our bedroom.
We would love to luck out and get another BWview room- don't worry and just enjoy it!

Kristin :thumbsup2

We had the same (or a room very close) to the one MikeBW had, and also found the noise noticable. My personal opinion is that the BW View is nice, but overrated, and that the best rooms for view and noise are the worst rooms for convieniece - high floors at the end of the hall. As to it actually being noisy, I suspect the variables are:

room location (low floors closer to the boat dock may be noisier)

what you are used to at home (live in the country with chirping crickets - or live in San Francisco?)

what schedule you sleep on (we thought mornings very peaceful, but the Illuminations at 9:00 anywhere in the resort can make getting kids to sleep difficult. Also, people returning to the resort after Illuminations made those rooms above the Screen Door loud. I suspect if you are out every night 'til 11, you don't notice much, and if you are closing PI every night, Jellyrolls has long let out before you get back to the resort.)
how light

I hope the view is great...we've booked our first trip home for November....Boardwalk view.

the view is beautiful. what I felt was strange - the people walking below me...'

I know myself that hardly anyone looked up....

but sometimes I felt I was on display....

the view was great!!!

yes, at night the noise could wake up the children - so just leave the TV on.

you and your spouse go out on the balcony to enjoy the fun atmosphere.

leave the TV on and the kids won't heard anything...

now the worst noise was in the morning - those ferry blowing those horns....

very loud and after a long night - not what you want to heard in the morning....

I do love standard view rooms!!!! :cloud9:

:thumbsup2 It is magical! I got Luna pool view last time and thought it was noisier (only with the door open). You'll love it!

We always stay in BW view rooms if they are available and waitlist until the last minute for BW view rooms if we don't get them on the first try. We are NOT out late at night and we have stayed on 2nd floor, 3rd floor and 5th floor. We have stayed on the Jellyrolls end of the hall and close to the elevator. We have traveled "adults only" and with a toddler. The boardwalk games close before it gets too late, so noise from them is not a problem for us. If you like to sleep with the balcony doors open, the noise on the boardwalk will be an issue. We have never been bothered with the doors closed, even on 2nd floor. We are city folk, so maybe that is why, but we live on a quiet residential street.
The magic of waking early to see Spaceship Earth illuminated in the morning, when all is still quiet; watching Illuminations every night from your own balcony; seeing the Friendship boats coming and going from the dock; and watching the boardwalk performers---it's all just magical for me. Fortunately not all feel as I do, otherwise I would have an even harder time booking BW view than I do now.
I hope you love your BW view room. Have a magical time.

They are some of the best views thruout Disney.

Can all Boardwalk view rooms see Illuminations?
We have BWV booked for 2 nights in March

Jillpie, by midnight airfare buying pal! Nice to see you! You are Lucky to score a BW view room and you will love :thumbsup2 , love :woohoo: , love :lovestruc it! IMO BW views are the best in WDW (with AKL savannah view coming second). I found the pool view noisier at BWV. Just try to get something on a higher floor. FYI, a longer walk is usually worth it in terms of the improved view of Illuminations. Also there are stairways you can use for a quick exit to the BW, the pool or the walkway to MGM

Have fun!

I've stayed in 3 different BW view room, and the only one where I was bothered by outside noise was on the highest floor I had, the 4th floor. I was right across from the Basketball game-boing, boing! But at least it only went until 10:30 or so (which wasn't late for me, but if I'd had kids with me, it might be). So watch out for what you're overlooking/across from. I think you'll like it-I thought the BW view was incredible. We saw the fireworks from both Epcot and Magic Kingdom (far off in the distance). And sitting on the balcony late on night, DS saw the lights go out on SE.

Most of the Illuminations fireworks are low to the lake. From our room (low floor close to the lobby) you could only see a very few high ones. So I suspect the answer is "yes, but keep your expectations of what that means in check."

Wow! Thanks for all these great responses. It sounds terrific. We did request a 5th floor room, so we'll see. Pumpkinboy! Nice to see you too! Booked Song again for June, I hope there aren't any problems and I hope we get a Song aircraft, it would be a bummer to get an old Delta one. Hey, thanks again everyone!
