Will we have enough time to do this?

Our flight lands at 1:30PM if on-time and we are staying at AKL Jambo house. Would we have enough time to get to the resort, check in and get the AK park for a 5:25 Tusker House reservation? I might have one checked bag to pick up. After having a bag not come on our flight just before a cruise last year, I want to pick it up myself.

I would not risk it. Too many possibilities-late flight. Lost bag. Traffic. Etc etc.

We never get to our resort at the time I think that we will. Too many variables. It's possible you could do it but I think you're pushing it. Try to get a little later reservation.

If you are in fact flying from Canada, you have to claim your own luggage at MCO (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/f...gical-express-international-luggage-claiming/). So you'll have some extra hoops to jump through. I think you should be able to make it, but you may be rushing towards the end of the time window to get in at 5:25.

Sorry, but this is MOSTLY incorrect. At most Canadian airports we preclear US customs before departing. So if she chose, OP could use the ME tags and just get on the bus. She likely won't have to be concerned about Customs on arrival.

OP, if your flight is on time, you should be fine. BUT, if there's a delay,...

I would gamble and go for a day of reservation after you land just to be safe (and avoid a cancellation fee).

You have a ton of time unless your flight gets absolutely cancelled. We used Skippys Transportaton , a 10 person van , picked us up and took us to our resort at Disney for only $60 , book it online for a small discount. Then a 10 minute Uber ride to Animal Kingdom for about $10 each way , we used uber all week, never used a Disney bus once, never waited more than 7 minutes. We were a party of 4. PS- the Van from the airport will make a free stop for beer/wine/food etc.

We allow a minimum of 4 hours between landing and arriving at a restaurant for a meal so your 1:30 - 5:25 time frame would be the bare minimum. Only make the reservation if you are willing to pay the $10 per person no show penalty if you don't make it to the restaurant on time because of flight or travel delays. For the arrival day we often check online while on the DME or after arriving at the resort to see what restaurants are available.

Respectfully disagree, we have never had to claim our own bags flying in from Toronto and always use MDE with the luggage tags :).

OP, if you are flying out in the winter, I wouldn't risk it. But four hours from when you land *should* be okay- even with traffic, it's never taken us longer to deplane, board MDE (with a half hour wait), and arrive at our hotel than about three hours. We are arriving at 1:30 or so for our next trip as well and I booked a 5:15 dinner.

I always say "no" to these questions because I personally would not want the stress of *having* to be somewhere at a particular time on travel day. Flying is stressful enough! I'd get on the MDE app when you land to see what is available for a same day ADR or just wing it at a counter service or a lounge. Since you're planning on AK, perhaps Tiifins lounge would be an option. I've read great things about it!

I think you will make it fine, personally. If it's impossible to make the reservation for a little later, I would go for it. Especially since the ADR in AK and you are staying at AKL (so close!) If you were staying at AKL and were hoping to make it to MK, I might feel a little differently (although I still think you would make it).

If you are just late with no extenuating circumstances, of course you will have to pay the late cancellation fee. But just FYI, on our last trip our flight was delayed by 6 hours and we were clearly unable to make our reservation. I called when it became clear it wasn't going to happen, and there were no cancellation charges/fees applied.

I think this is worth the risk. Likely all will go well with that much cushion. Worst case scenario is you lose $10. If you show up late they will work with you. I always have an arrival dinner with that time frame and have not had a big push. You can always just leave bags at bell service as you arrive and check in and see room after. ..this is all if Tusker is important for that day. Boma in your resort is sooooooo wonderful..and not travel to the park for it..just a thought.
