We have just booked 7 nightsd at Disney mid Nov and are thinking of adding the Dinning Plan on, does anyone know if we will still be able to get reserations for table service meals this late?

So excited to be going to Disney again:cool1:

I dont think so...I am going in Dec and booked four months in advance no problem. I called Friday to change some ressies, most everything was booked up. You could call everyday though....people change their mind like I did or double book and then cancel when their plans are more concrete. Hope you have a wonderful time and can get some ressies! Oh, I ressied even before I chose to be on the meal plan. No reason to pay for it if I cant get a table service meal...oh, and try some of the hotels, they have some great restaurants, maybe there will be more openings.

As long as you are flexible with your times and places you'll find something. We are leaving in 4 weeks and I made a couple of ADR changes this week and had no problem getting the times and places I wanted. I changed my times for Kona Cafe and GF Cafe with no problem. However, we are a table for 2, which makes a big difference. If you're a larger group it will be harder. Good luck!

I have absolutely no background here, yet I continue to offer advice!!!!

I'm guessing you'll have some luck if you deliberately choose "off" times to eat. So plan on a quick snack in the morning and then have "breakfast" at 11 am. Or do light brunch and have "dinner" at 3 pm or something. I bet you'll be able to get some great meals, just not at the typical times.

People in the know, what do you think?

we are going Oct 4 / Oct 12 and I just made ADR's yesterday I got all I wanted but 1 I was very flexible
about times late lunch early dinner was the easiest to get.

I am going Nov 14 - 20 and have had no real problem getting them, I suggest that you call and make your ADRs and see how you do at getting them, when asked if you are doing the dining plan just say you don't know yet. you can still book the ADR anyway. then once you see what availability is you can decide to add the plan or not.

We made ADR's about 4 weeks out for our trip in July. We were able to get the following ADR's on the days we wanted:

1) Crystal Palace 8:10am (exactly what we wanted)

2) Olivia's 6:00pm (we were staying at OKW)

3) Kona Cafe 5:45pm (wanted Contemporary Steak House but only had 8:00pm for night we wanted)

4) Akershus 5:45pm

5) CRT 5:30pm (lucked into this one - they had 2 openings for the entire duration of our stay - a 2:30pm Lunch and this dinner).

Now, these may not be the most popular ADR's, but it is what we wanted and worked out great for us. I have to say, I did not call repeatedly for any of these ADR's. I didn't even make the Kona reservation until about 9 days out. I was almost embarrassed to ask about CRT due to the popularity with little ones - but, I'm glad I did!

I have a mini (3 night) trip for October over a weekend. I called twice to ask about CRT and had no luck (about 6 weeks out). I called about 5 weeks out and got Crystal Palace at 8:10am and Boma at 5:30pm. True, Boma did not have 6:00pm like I wanted, but I was offered 2 other options (5:30 and 6:40).

Just call and ask for what you want, but be ready to compromise and possibly call back. Have fun planning and good luck!

I think you will be able to get a lot of good restaurants if you are flexible with your times. I called to get 50s Prime Time for our November trip. I didn't get the time I wanted (5:30) but I did get 4:40. Oh, and I did change one of our dinners so that opened up a reservation for someone.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for CRT or Le Cellier, but you never know.

I agree, call now and see what is available. There is no free DDP at that time so ADR's shouldn't be to hard to get. The DDP is great if you get the places you want. Good luck.
ME and DW are off to POP this Friday for 9 nights.:hippie: :cool1:

We just decided yesterday to go to WDW. I just made our ADRs today for Oct. 9-12. I got 3 of the 4 restaurants that I wanted (Concourse Steakhouse, Boma, Wolfgang Pucks) and 3 of the 4 times we wanted (between 5 and 6 pm). We were only able to get the Concourse Steakhouse for 7:30 pm and were unable to get Le Cellier for lunch or dinner for those dates. We choose Nine Dragons instead.

Thanks everyone for the advice and suport. I have so far managed to get Cellier and Concourse steakhouse. Am trying for 1900 Park Fayre, Chefs Mickeys and Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package (thinks that may be immposible but like everyone says keep trying). One of the gret things about going to Disnay is being able to post on the board again, sharing the excitment, roll on November!!:cheer2:

Just returned from 1 week of free DDP and here are the stats as to how full the restaurants were (i.e. if they weren't packed there were obviously reservations left).
  • Raglan Road - lunch - about 5% full - food here is fantastic!
  • Raglan Road - dinner - about 50% full
  • Wolfgang Puck - lunch - about 15% full - wonderful food! child make-your-own-ice-cream-sundae-palette was a big hit!
  • Boma - dinner - 80% full - another great choice!
  • Chef Mickey's - lunch - 100% full - food was bad-to-average, but got great piccies! Next time will eat somewhere else and get piccies separately!
  • Akershus - dinner - 100% full - great food - great character piccies!
  • Chef's De France - lunch - about 30% full - loved the fact that the children's menu includes a choice of appetizer - this is probably the best children's menu for choices!

My point is that there was plenty of great food and great meal with kids options, even during the height of free dining! Just avoid the same few restaurants everyone is trying to get (CRT, Chef Mickey, Le Cellier, etc)

I rang last night and got 50's Primetime lunch, WPC and San Angel all at times to suit us. You never know unless you try.;)

:goodvibes
