will we get caught?

we still can and should give our opinion on a moral issue when it is asked.
Actually, it is not necessary to comment on someone else's morals. Feel free to tell me what you would do, just do not tell ME what to do.

Speedy, I think that your post is right on. I know that I have done things that I shouldn't have, and not done things that I should. I am infallible, and I have made poor choices. I have learned from my mistakes...in fact, I'm quite smart now that I'm older and have 5 decades of mistakes learned. :rotfl:

Beth, you are right. The "non-tranferable" was to cover the selling of the tickets by ticket sellers. We have shared passes for years. The more we shared, the more often we went. In fact, I will NEVER have to buy the plusses for MYW.....I could visit the waterparks ad infinitum (sic)

Diane, I would never call you a bad person. I don't taste the grapes, but that is ME.

I appreciate the question about the chemo. I need to speak to DSis and remind her to pack the Purell.

Purell- They have nice individually packed wipes, too. We go through boxes of them when mom is on chemo.

Well well well. I am the OP. Also known as Satan, park pass stealer, speeder, occasional grape eater, unknowing litterer, food bringer into the parker, express lane with 13 items-er, and forgot ( or more honestly never occurred to me ) to declare sales tax on the three items I bought last year from ebay. Did you all follow that? I posed this question because I thought, wow! a way to make this work for both of our families. I wonder if it would be okay to do it or if we are breaking the rules and will get caught and in trouble. I got my question answered quite expeditiously and then the board disolved into a nightmare of holier than thou mudslinging. Really--just incredible!

I understand the policy now, but still find it unfortunate that an admission ticket that has been bought and paid for cannot be shared by families. I know most here would rather go without meat for a month than not go to the parks for their vacations, but some of us save for YEARS for ONE trip with their kids. Finding a way to make that dream come true a little sooner would be lovely. I would still be staying in their resorts, paying for their food and souvenirs, telling all my friends that they just have to go, going to their movies and watching their TV network.

and PS I posed the thread title that way because I knew I would get a response! If I made it less tantalizing half of you would never even have looked at it! :rotfl:

"and PS I posed the thread title that way because I knew I would get a response! If I made it less tantalizing half of you would never even have looked at it!"

But you would have gotten your answer just the same without causing nearly the trouble. Seems you went fishing for strife and caught plenty.

again, amazing. :rotfl: I did not go "fishing for strife." I merely posed the question in a manner that would get attention. That is marketing 101. I assure you, it has brought me no strife whatsoever. I have only been on these boards for a very short time but I am consistently amazed at how everyone gets their panties in a bunch over things that will not harm them. It really can be quite comical if you let it be! :rotfl2:

I was there in May, and went to all four parks. My one friend and I never had the bioscan at all, my sister had the bioscan in two of the four parks, and the other friend had the bioscan in one of the parks. We were always entering the parks together, so I have no clue why it was so random. They did not seem to be enforcing the bioscan issue at that particular time, so I would be suprised if they would force you to do the bioscan if you gave the CM a valid reason for not doing the bioscan.

WOW! We were there over Easter, and the parks were packed. The lines to enter the parks were huge. Every over-9 member of our family had to bioscan every single time we entered a park, even when we had previously been there that day already! You mean, sometimes they don't make people do it????

Well, they may take away my Moderator position for admitting this, but before our first trip to WDW in 1996, we bought a few leftover hopper days from our neighbor. And when my DH and I went on an adult only trip in 1999, we used our older 2 DDs' leftover hopper days so we did not have to buy any new passes. And I don't feel a bit apologetic for it. Nor do I feel as if I have compromised my morals having done so.

It is my understanding that the "Non-transferrable" clause was on the passes to discourage scalping and reselling of the passes at the infamous "Cheap Passes Here" booths surrounding the Disney area. It was not there to keep you from giving (or selling) your passes to friends, neighbors, family, PARENTS (who had PAID for the passes to BEGIN with!).

I tend to feel the same way. I have old hopper passes, with misc. days left on them, as well as have 2 unused hopper passes (bought before I knew about MYW). I plan on using them as I need them for my family. I don't care too much who it was originally "assigned" to.

I won't be reselling mine, privately, or on EBAY. But I will use them for my family as I see fit.

Excuse me for being dense but need some help. Are the tickets identfiable in any way from each other? In the past we just put our ticket thru the scanner and dumped them back all together in their holder. We never knew who belonged to what ticket (dh, dd,dd,and me - no unrelated people), we always went everywhere together. Now you are telling me I have to keep these tickets straight?

I did read somewhere (sorry, can't recall where) that if the passes were bought together, they will be linked to the same reservation number, and therefore if you pick up your husband's or vice versa, it will still work -- the computer will locate your scan and okay you. HOWEVER, if you buy them separately, they will not be so linked, and if you don't match, you're out of luck.
Actually the machines are programmed to do that. The system really does work. The machines are programmed to accept the finger scan for every member of your party on each ticket. In other words, the computers know that you and your wife’s ticket are together because they were purchased together. Thus the machine allows for them to be interchangeable. So, even if you have 10 family members in your party (and all of the tickets were issued in the same group, they will be interchangeable). This is because many people have one person in there party who holds all of their tickets. This prevents wasted time at the entrance due to the people having the wrong ticket. However it is important to point out that some times they do turn the system off completely if crowds get too backed up. However this does not change the fact that the system works and I don’t recommend trying to use someone else’s ticket.

Do you shout a lot? I was merely asking a question! I didn't say a thing to the OP re. his/her personal values. I was noting the fact that anytime anyone says that something is against the rules or against the law, someone chimes in about value judgements. If people don't want a value judgement, then don't post questions like "will I get caught." A question like that ASSUMES the OP had a fairly good idea that it was/is inappropriate.

Nice friendly kind response by the way... ;)

Do I shout a lot?[/B] That's exactly the kind of responses I was referring to! Thanks for making my point!

Perhaps you should re-read my post. I made no attacks on you-simply stated that we need to answer the questions w/o judgement since it is unfair to assume what any one person knows when they are th OP.

:flower: :sunny: Don't you have more important things to worry about then who uses the disney tickets? Life is too short to worry about that stuff!!! This site is to help people get information not judge who is right or who is wrong. Who is anyone to judge anyone else??? We are all Disney fans and just want to have a good time!!! :rotfl:

I'm certainly not trying to judge anyone, heck, I just recently posted if anyone thought there would be an issue with passing my screening tickets to someone else.

I just think that posting this:
Again, I was asking a question! I didn't know the answer to!
on another thread talking about people being friendly (or unfriendly) but coming to this thread and saying this:
and PS I posed the thread title that way because I knew I would get a response! If I made it less tantalizing half of you would never even have looked at it!

There are plenty of posts that get answered without having to use marketing 101, :)

And for the definition:
My Merriam-Webster Unabridged Dictionary says this of "snarky":

"Snarky...

1 chiefly Britain: CROTCHETY : SNAPPISH
2 marked by a sarcastic, impertinent, or irreverent manner"

Believe me even if the title had been different the answers would have still been the same..always are

Thanks for the definition. :flower:

I will beg to differ though on the marketing 101. I am sure there are plenty of posts that get answered without a colorful title, but I would be willing to bet that alot of people carefully choose the title of their thread in order to get it attention.

we have been going every year for a while now. last visit was aug.04. they did not have expiration date on tickets. then they changed. I personally think its STUPID.....that is MY opinion. i mean come on......how much money can u make...............so now you pay for what was always free?????? oh well , when we go back this year we will pay for exp. though just like everyone else.....ha........our relatives had 2 days left, when we went one year we did use them. but we also bought 7 day hoppers for 4 while we were there. oh yeah, i have to admit one more thing..
