Will we find our beloved Corn and Cheese Dogs at DCA this weekend?

Hello all! We aren't terribly frequent visitors to Disneyland, but we own DVC at VGC, and we are very excited to arrive tomorrow evening for a long weekend.

I think I read that the Corn Dog Castle was among the many areas closed for refurb/new development.

Will we find our corn dogs and cheese dogs? It's the one thing we dream about and miss terribly on WDW visits.

I highly doubt it...the Little Mermaid refurb is still underway the ride won't open until 2011. I haven't been out for about 2 weeks, but the wall was still up the last time I was there. You can get the corn dogs at Bountiful Farms, but no cheese. The cheese is my favorite!

Now that Bountiful Valley Farmer's Market has closed, Award Weiners in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot is now your source for corn dogs while at Disney's California Adventure. The corn dogs are said to be hand-dipped and fried at the restaurant, just as they are at Disneyland's Little Red Wagon. In the spirit of research we tested the DCA corn dogs over the weekend and found them to be pretty comparable to the version currently served in Disneyland (last year, the OC Weekly reported (link) that Disneyland had changed to a smaller, beef-and-chicken blend dog for both hot dog and corn dog preparations). The Award Weiners dogs come with your choice of apple slices or potato chips.

They were at Corn Dog Castle over by the dinosaur. But since that's all gone they aren't serving the cheese dogs anymore.....which is a bummer and I hope they bring them back!!!! It sort of makes sense to have stuff like that at Award Weiners.....Hello, Award Weiners....hot dogs/corn dogs...ya makes sense.

i cant believe they had cheese dogs at corn dog castle and i missed them, i would always go there and get a corn dog, i must have been so excited about getting a delicious corn dog i didnt even notice the cheese dog, i hope they bring it back when it re-opens.

Dang! we had a corn dog at Bountiful Valley Farms about 2 weeks ago, I had no idea they were closing! I can't wait for the corn dog palace to reopen because I loved the cheese dog!

Are you 100% sure about that? I didn't see any mention of cheese dogs on their menu when I walked by today. Corndog, yes, replacing corndogs at Farmer's Market which replaced corndogs at the CDC. Chili-cheese dog, yes, but the same chili-cheese dog they've always had. I didn't wait in line to ask about cheese dogs, tho, 'cause I wasn't planning to buy anything there. The menu showed their #1-#5, the rest of their regular stuff, and the corndog.

(I assume you're talking about a corndog with cheese instead of meat.)

I checked when we were there the other day and they only had the corn dog on the menu. Unless it's like In-N-Out where you can order Protein Style or Animal Style burgers that aren't on the menu, there are no cheese dogs.

Even worse, we checked into our Villa at the DVC and the building for the Corn Dog Palace is no longer there! I could be wrong, but I looked for it long and hard! It was there when we stayed in May and June, but now it's gone. I hope they bring back the cheese dogs. The only other place I can get them is Hot Dog on a Stick, but they aren't nearly as good as the Disney ones!

You mean the Corn Dog Castle? It's one of the big chunks of DCA that's been walled off. You can still see it behind the blue fence. It's supposed to be back next spring. First they moved the corndogs to Farmer's Market but then that got walled off, too, and they got bumped to Award Wieners.
