I love this picture of Connor!! We got to the park at rope drop and Rachel took him to Autopia. She stopped to take this along the way!! Guess what I did? Main Street Bakery baby!! Yummm french toast loaf rocks!! We all shared iit a little later!

This is the 4 of us after the parade. I love disney magic! A sweet couple perched Connor up by them for the parade and then took our picture!!

Love this one of me and Jacob, he was so happy at WDW!

Here is Mommy and Connor! Connor blossomed at WDW and only cried twice. One meltdown near astro orbitors (sorry if you were in line with us) and once when he was too small for Expedition Everest. He LOVED everything!! Amazing!!

Can't find one of Travis yet, that will be my next project!!

Well my DD uploaded some photos of Travis the night he left for Iraq, so I would like to share some with you all!!

It is so sad to try to explain to Connor why Daddy is gone for so long. There are times when he refuses to talk to Travis on the phone when he calls even. It really breaks my heart.
There are family pictures in our foyer. Jacob points to the pictures and says "da-da". He now is finding all the other pictures of Travis and pointing to them. The hardest part, since we live in a military town, is when Jacob sees someone who looks like Travis in uniform. He will point and say "da-da". We went through this with Connor on Travis' first deployment also. Poor babes!
Please pray for Travis and his safety as the situation is deteriorating where he is right now. What was supposed to be a peace keeping, support the iraqi police force mission is now turning into something more like his last mission.
This May trip is getting to be even more important for that reason!!

Well now that everyone has been introduced I figure I can talk a bit more about our trip!! We were originally going to go for a much shorter vacation with some other family members. They had to back out. We decided to then change our trip to coincide with Travis' R&R. Since he has never been to WDW and will definately be in the need for a nice/fun/rebonding time with Rachel and the boys, we thought a disney trip, mixed with some relaxing resort days might just do the trick...
So we began planning. We were planning on the beginning of May. We read on the boards that it was a nice time to visit with low humidity, low crowds and the flower and garden festival! We had just made all our adr's, when Travis told us his leave changed and he had to travel the last two weeks of May.
I went into panic mode...last two weeks of May=memorial day... ah I was doubtful at best that we would find rooms at the late date we booked them.
Someone was watching out for us though! We were able to book a 1 bedroom at Kidani Village, May 13-16, no longer savannah view, but that's ok.
We then wanted to change over to OKW. Travis would be joining us here. Well, we ended up with a studio here, but it will work out ok, just would have been nicer to have the one bedroom.
Then we transfer to SS and a one bedroom for 9 nights. This is using the rest of our developer points. We loved SS when we stayed there in Sept., last minute. Beautiful resort!! We enjoyed artists pallette and enjoyed the boat ride to DTD! Connor LOVED all forms of Disney transportation. The monorail (riding up front with the driver, or in the regular cars) was his favorite! He also loved the train, boats and even loved the resort busses lol!
His favorite present from the trip is his monorail!! He says when "I"M bigger I'm gonna drive the monorail! But I'm gonna go really fast!" lol.
We are really excited to bring him back to WDW!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrr!! Rachel just got off the phone with Travis. He was told that he wont know until mid march if they will still be able to honor his R&R dates!! There are times I really dislike the US Army!!! This is definately one of them!!

Thank you so much!! They are a cute family, (but I am a little predjudiced, lol). Travis can only join us for two weeks. He will then have to go back to Iraq. The tours this go-round are only supposed to be for 12 months, but Travis has already been told that they may be there longer since the US will be downsizing the amount of troops present. This means 1st cav may have to cover during pull-outs. This has raised both Travis and our stress levels quite a bit! We really need this downtime together! We have scheduled a few days to just chill and it's not "all about the parks" this time. Thank you for caring!!

Oh wow! I'll pray for his and his company's safety. Let's hope he can get his R&R. He'll need it!!

Hi there! Just found your trip report. What an adorable family you have! My Dad served in Vietnam and his Dad served in the Korean War and World War II. I'm thankful every day for the sacrifices that men and women in the armed forces (including their families) make so that I can be free and live without fear. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that Travis gets his R&R. Your trip report is so touching. I hope this works out to be the best vacation ever! We just got a phone call. Travis has been injured. Thanks to Gods blessings he will be ok, but he is in a lot of pain right now. His hand has been cut from the tip if his thumb all the way down the thumb and across to the palm of his hand. Apparently it was quite deep and required a lot of stitches. Now the plan is to watch and pray that there is no nerve damage or loss of use of his hand. The only "silver lining" is that Travis will not be going out on missions for at least a few weeks. Poor thing!
Thank you for all the prayers. I believe strongly in prayer and know God listens and blesses our prayers, so thank you for your prayers for Travis!!

I just got finished with a 12 hour shift and work tonight also, but tomorrow aaai will post some pictures of things we have gotten for the trip so far!!

Oh no! I am sorry to hear about Travis, it must be very nerve-wracking having him over there. I remember how nervous I was the four months my Dad was in Afghanistan.
