Hi. Traveling last week in Sept with DH, DD 5 and DD 11 mo. We are on the regular dining plan. I plan to book a few character breakfasts...but question is.. if we use our table credits for character breakfasts, how do you end up making it the rest of the day for lunch and dinner when you only have 1 counter service and 1 snack?

On the days we do character b'fast we usually use our snack credit for lunch and our CS credit for dinner. Sometimes DH will still be hungry and grab a hot dog oop. You can get some very filling snacks in the parks. Check out the confirmed snack list. Also if you are doing a buffet you can grab some fruit for later.

If you book a later breakfast and then have an earlier dinner and a snack in the evening, you can stretch your credits. However, if you're doing an early breakfast, you may just plan on paying for a few counter service lunches out of pocket.

Another thing you can do is a couple of times save either one adult or one child's CS meal (and just share 2 adult or one adult and one child meal with maybe a snack added in). We did this a couple of times and used the remaining CS meals for breakfast (we usually do a CS lunch and a TS dinner), but I'm sure you can do it for lunch also. There many places that I feel give huge CS meals that can be shared. It's been a while since I've been to these, but a few I remember are: CS in mexico, CS in UK (I think they don't have a kid's meal and so a kid's meal is actually the same as an adult, it may have changed though), Flame Tree BBQ. Some others may be able to help with more.

Hey! I am going to inbox you with a great list of snacks that you can get! Some are even worth a meal :)

Also, I think the F&W starts the end of September (not sure if your dates overlap with it), and in the past you have been able to use snack credits for the booths. You can defintely make a meal out of these great snacks!

We have done this many times. We like to sleep in on vacation so our breakfasts are around 9:30. Honestly, if we have a buffet breakfast we aren't even hungry for lunch so will probably just get a snack. We then get a counter service for dinner. Don't forget, that includes a dessert too so there is plenty to fill you up. Check out the menus on allears.net. That will help you to see there is such large variety.

ITA. You can get some big snacks for lunch and an early CS dinner or share some meals and combine with snacks. For instance, you could get 1 CS adult meal and use a snack credit for another side of fries. Or pay for a side OOP. We ate at Pinochio Haus in the MK in Dec. I ordered a personal pizza which came with a side salad and then an order of breadsticks. I fed me and my DS's (4 & 1) and still had food left over! My mom and I agreed that we should have split the meal because she had the same thing and had leftover too. We could have easily fed all 4 of us on 1 adult meal and a side and we were full!

When we all go in Sept. We plan on each couple splitting a CS breakfast, then my mom and I will split lunch, so will my grandparents, my dad and DH will have their own meals at lunch. This will allow us to have breakfast and lunch each day except for the morning we leave plus our TS dinner where no one will share. We may have to buy a few breakfasts for my DS's OOP to split, we'll have 1 extra child's CS too. We won't have time to eat breakfast the morning we leave anyway. We'll bring some pop-tarts with for that morning and maybe finish up any desserts that we weren't able to eat through the week!

I was worried about this too when we went in September.

We never went hungry and didn't have to buy any food OOP, even though I had budgeted for it.

On the day we had a breakfast ADR, it was at 9:00am, the kids were so full we just had a snack around 1:00pm and used the CS for supper. Breakfast foods are my kids favourites so that really worked out well for us.

We made sure not to use our snack credits on drinks or water. It was SUPER hot while we were there, but we brought the kids Funtainer Coolers and filled them up with ice water before we left for the parks. We refilled them with free ice water from the CS places all day.

We ended up having 6 snack credits left over on our last day and used them up on goodies for the long drive home.

The portions are so big and filling, it really is enough food.
