Our ressie is for 8:10am on Sat Aug 15 and park opens at 9. Do you think we will be done before park opens? Any recommendations on what to do if so? I have heard that there is some sort of opening ceremony where characters arrive by train - does anyone know about this? What time does it arrive and is it inside the park? Is it worth it or should we just head to popular attractions first? What would top attraction be given that Space Mountain is closed (DS9 is devastated).

I would be surprised if you were done, honestly. You likely won't be seated right at 810 (though you might be!) and if you wait for all the characters, it usually takes a good solid hour to have breakfast.

I've never made it to a park at rope drop so I honestly have no idea what happens =)

Yes I'm a little worried about the time - none of us are early birds and I am already paranoid of missing the reservation!

We had an 8:05 ADR in March and were done eating with check paid around 8:50 or so but we also skipped seeing Piglet to make RD. If you're interested in seeing all the characters you may not make it out before 9:00. This wasn't an issue for us since we had dinner there earlier in the week and had already met all the characters.

I forget...is 8:10 the earliest ADR or is it 8:05? Anyway, we had the earliest ADR for CP last summer. We were the second ones to check in at CP but the first ones seated...not sure how that happened. It worked out great becasue we were able to get food before there were any lines. Also, the characters started coming to our tables and those right around us within a few minutes of being seated becasue we were the first ones in the restaurant. We didn't rush and we were done and out the door by 8:50 for 9:00am rope drop. I do have to add the my DD's were 12 and 10 at the time. So they were good with just a quick hug with each character and a picuture. Also, they both eat pretty quickly. If you're there with real little ones I'm sure you will be there longer.

I think you'll be fine- but may need to skip a character to make it out in time.
Personally I wouldn't go back out to watch the park openign if i'm already in the park for bfast. you'll get to rides faster if you don't go back out.
As far as which rides to ride first- if you have any young ones- peter pan adn dumbo fill up fast and are good to do first thing.

We have eaten there and Crt for breakfast twice each and all four times at the first booking of 8.05am.

We made it for 8.55am three times without rushing and always seeing all the characters. At CP the first time we waited to see our last character and for DD to go to the loo before going out and still were out for 9.10am

Dh and I like to book the 8:05 am ressie and we are in the park by 8:45 and line up for rope drop in Adventureland...since we are not too concerned about seeing the characters this always works well for us
