Just curious is the new restaurant in Italy will be a counter service or table service meal? I thought I read it was CS, but then allears is reporting that you can make reservations soon...:confused3

Wow. That is actually surprising. I thought that with tutto right there, it would be cs.

The big demand with the dining plan is for TS restaurants. Anyway, France and Japan already have two TS restaurants so it isn't really that surprising.

Any rumors out there about how they are dividing the credits among one pizza? Are they requiring DDP guests to order individual pizzas instead of sharing a larger one? Some people love a few slices while others may only want one or two. It would be interesting to see how they are going to do this. :surfweb:

As of right now its not on the DDP. I called this evening and asked the same question. lol I was wondering the same thing as the poster above on how they would do credits for pizza. I guess if you can get a $35 steak on the DDP, they could do a $36 pizza, but seems like quite a waste.

According to the Parks blog (which is published by Disney) it is on DDP for one credit per person.

I don't disagree with you, but I just called WDW-DINE 30 minutes ago and they said Disney has not made a determination. We all know how that works between different CM's though.......

I don't trust any information from WDW-DINE so I'm going with the parks blog.

Again, I don't disagree with you TDC, all the research I've read points to a TS restaurant too. It will be interesting to see how credits will be divided out. Its highly possible they won't which means a family of 4 (with kids 10 and over) could order 4 half meter pizza's. Seems like quite a waste or lots of doggie bags! BTW, the pizza sizes are advertised as 10", 20" and half meter. In my book half meter is approximately 20", so something doesnt quite add up! :scared1: In any event, I cant wait to go!!!!:banana:

I know it's baffling everyone about credits for pizzas, but we'd have to wait and see - I have no doubt this will be a DDP restaurant. They'll find some way to do it so you can't buy 4 half meter pizzas on children's credits.

Have to agree with TDCNala on this one -- the Disney Parks Blog is written by a Disney PR person with the express purpose of giving news to blog-readers. But many of the WDW-DINE folks are just call-center type employees -- not even in the Orlando area and many have never even been to Disney World. I used to always ask them if they'd been to Disney back when we had to call for all dinner reservations -- at least 50% of the time the answer was "no" have never been there. They just are not all that familiar with WDW, and the info they have is often quite out of date. For example, long after Mama Melrose did away with the set menu for the Fantasmic Dining Package, the people at WDW-DINE were still quoting the set menu for what you got. That was 6 months after the restaurant had switched to ala carte choices. Quite a few of those WDW DINE people are located at a call center in Tampa, but some are even further away. They basically know whatever their computer dining program is telling them, so if Via Napoli has not been loaded into the reservation system they actually know nothing about it yet. Some do not even know that this Italian restaurant is coming soon...I talked to one the other day who (1) did not know there was a new restaurant coming this Fall to Epcot, much less know that there are actually TWO new table service restaurants coming - the Italian one & the new one in Mexico area. She laughed & said "I suppose we'll get the memo the day we start taking reservations." The person you talked to probably meant the info had not been loaded into their computer yet so she couldn't give you an answer yet.

Me, either anymore. 6 months ago, a CM there told me there were absolutely NO restaurants from which a person could see the MK fireworks. Thankfully, I had learned differently myself from this site and a couple of others:surfweb:

Have they released a kids' menu? Something else to contemplate. There is no TS DDP restaurant that doesn't have a kids' menu.

I was really, really, really hoping that they would have a CS portion as well where you could get pizza by the slice. :(
