Will Universal follow suit and raise AP ticket prices?

Going at the end of November, need to purchase at least one AP to get the hotel discount rate. I wanted to wait until early November to purchase, but if US follows Disney in ticket price raising, I would consider purchasing now. Anyone with any history/insight into this situation?

Well, they just raised AP renewal rates for the first time in quite awhile*. So I'm thinking that they are done for now.

*and now I have a Preferred while DS and DH have Power passes since none of the blockout dates affect us...we used to all have Preferred...

Didn't they already raise AP prices in the spring? I don't recall them raising AP prices twice in a year.

I was just reading the prices on our local news (FL resident) and for us we would have to layout $776 per person for the best pass. I can't justify $2328 for the 3 of us for the year then room, food, gas, tolls. That's $194 a month for our family. To benefit you need to visit a lot for that money. And for out of state you are a $100 more, crazy. It's become a impossible vacation for most of the population. Hey, parking onsite is free though.

We just got back from 8 days at the world and it was packed! Made my son and I more excited about going back to US next week. LOTS of overseas visitors at the world. Rides were constantly breaking down, CM's were grouchy, tons of rude people! We used to go to WDW several times a year but haven't been in about 3 years. Might hit it one more time in Dec so my kids can see the Christmas decorations and Osborn lights. We will most likely stay at Uni though. We stayed at AOA in a cars suite. Although well done, Cabana Bay blows AOA away, in my opinion, and is a hell of a lot less expensive.

pcstang I couldn't agree more. I feel like I got a steal on renewing my AP at US this year. They even gave me an additional discount to do it online and early. My last few trips to WDW have been miserable. Large crowds during periods that used to be slow, ridiculous planning ahead of time, dirty parks (especially the bathrooms) and CMs who just don't care. And now they are restructuring the APs and raising the prices for the 2nd time this year. Really questioning whether to renew. Oh goody they added free parking back to my seasonal pass.
My family says US is what WDW used to be. I feel like I get more bang for my buck, friendly tms, clean parks and they appreciate me. I also get more benefits with my US AP.

We are staying at US in Dec for the Disappalooza and just visiting DS for the Osbourne lights farewell.

We have done a Universal only year this year. We just can't justify the cost of Disney while we have Universal APs. We will see how things go next year, but honestly, we may take a second year off. We are moving this summer and between moving and my oldest starting at the local college this year, we may just save our $$.

I was wondering if there might be a price increase. We just moved to the Orlando area and I've been holding off buying Universal and Sea World annual passes. I decided not to chance it and ordered our AP's this morning. Luckily I had already brought Disney AP's in September so I just missed the price increases!
