Like many others, we let our APs expire at the end of 2019, planning to purchase new in 2020. So, we don't qualify for new passes with the current restrictions.

When we were at Disney in January, a DVC guide suggested that we call to ask about getting new passes. I don't think that we qualify. However, I have a relative that canceled a non DVC AP during the closure period. If that relative were to purchase a new, non DVC AP and then transfer the pass to me, would Disney let me purchase new DVC APs for my other family members? Would I be able to convert the non DVC AP to a DVC AP?

I have read that Disney has let family members without APs purchase new ones if they were going with members with APs, but in this case, it would be only one family member with an AP and the majority without passes. Do you think it would work?

Good question but most of what I have read about it is that unless the person needing the new pass for your family was under 3, they don’t allow family members to get new ones.

I’d say all you can do is try. What I don’t know is if there is a change to being transferable the new certificates given in the recovery offer?

You’d really need to call

I know I should call, but I dread the wait times! It seems like a long shot.

You would not call DVC but the AP division DVC isn’t the one who can sell new under the recovery offer,

All they can currently do is renew passes.

I knew that I needed to call the AP line, but I thought they had long waits too!

From what I have read, you have to get a call back so I didn’t think the waits for that line were too long.

But, wasn’t sure if you knew as some people have waited with MS only to find they had to call someone else. Lol

I appreciate the information. I hope you are correct!

I called the pass holder line. No luck for us. I was told, even if some members of our party had an AP, they would not sell new passes to the rest of the party.

At least I didn’t have to wait a long time before someone answered. Still, it is disappointing.
