ROFR Thread Jan to March 2026 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

Confirmed that our first try at purchasing DVC is off to Disney for ROFR. It's going to be a close one whether Disney takes it or not I think. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

I'm still new here, didn't realize we could put sent contracts without an answer in here until just now.

I’m not sure this PVB buyer asked for advice. If they did, I apologize. Just want to make sure we aren’t giving unsolicited advice as I was called out about that when I first joined.
Fair. I'll be honest; having that many PVB points would be totally awesome. I'm also sorry for offering advice if you weren't seeking it. But I do hope they make the best decision for them and know their legal rights at this stage.

I was going to post this observation in the Not-ROFR thread, but hesitated. Thanks for bringing it up. Every poster is free to do their own thing within the DISboards guildelines, but I'm not a fan of telling people the thing they just bought was a mistake unless they ask "Was this a mistake?"

Of course, the meta-conversation is that no one who said "This might be a mistake" asked if they should, so pot, kettle, etc. etc.

I'm going to be a naysayer here and tell you that you should *really* consider looking over this one in detail before your recession period ends.

I would value the missing 2025, 2026, and 2027 points as about $36 in total, even with the credit for member fees at closing. So even though you are paying $124 per point, this is about equivalent to a loaded contract at $160 per point. Given the incredibly large contract size AND the delayed closing, I believe you should be getting a much larger discount on this contract.
I have to say I agree. But was trying to keep it to myself. Failed once again 😂

No, I’m happy for the advice 😂. I know it may not be the perfect deal, and could’ve possibly negotiated harder, but, it was a price we are happy to pay, for a contract that will suit us well going forward. Hopefully only means one set of negotiations as well.

My thoughts on this: unless the person is outside the rescission period, I *hope* we can offer constructive information to consider about contracts. Because until the rescission period ends, changes can still be made. After the rescission period, it's a moot point, so no need to discuss.

@Pigmyhippo, you’re taking our unsolicited input very well. I think you posted both a very large contract and one that is fully stripped with a delayed close. That will bring out a lot of thoughts from a lot of us on these boards 🙂. It hits on a lot of opinions about a lot of things DVC related.

Maybe, if you would like a long and thorough chain of responses, I’d suggest making your own thread. You will get all the input and advice you wanted and more, guaranteed! If not, no worries, but we should probably not take over the ROFR thread with this.

I would want the advice even if it was unsolicited as long as it wasnt in a rude way which I havent seen anyone do in this particular instance. What bothers me is when people here give advice and take it personally and get pissed if you dont take the advice after contemplating it.

In the end, the person purchasing is the one thats going to be dealing with the contract and after giving contrary advice, it is okay for them to decide to move forward and Disboards users should as well

This, 100%! I want people to know their options and rights, as this is a sort of murky process, especially if you've never done it before. And they are free to make the best decision for their circumstance with that information, as they see fit!

New Member if Disney passes. Definitely going to be on edge to see if they pass or not given the low cost per point. We fully expected the sellers to counter when we made our offer and instead, they accepted it.
Awesome! Same here. We just closed on 50 points for AKV.

Is your plan to go every 2 years as well?

It’s just my opinion, but unless someone asks for people’s thoughts, I don’t give it.

For me, a good deal is what works for the buyer and if they posted it here, without asking for feedback, then I assume they were happy.

There is no rule that people can’t give feedback but what does happen is that people will stop posting if their deals don’t match what some may see as a great deal.
