Will this strategy work?

This is our plan for Sunday September 19. Tell me if it sounds like it will work.

We will be waking up at the BWI (thats where we will have stayed the night after the wedding). Since we have access to MGM by boat, I thought it would be nice to take the boat instead of riding a shuttle bus. I would like to got to MGM as early as possible, (but don't know when they open since the Sept hours for MGM are not posted yet), and then take the boat back to the boardwalk. We will then need to gather our bags and take a bus to POR since that is where we will be staying the duration of our trip. Okay, here's where it gets a little complicated...........
We have a horse and carriage ride scheduled for 6:00 that evening. That will last till 6:30. Then, we will need to take a bus to the MK and take the monorail or walk to the Contemporary (CG) for our dinner reservations at 8:00pm. I am so glad that the magic Kingodm will be open till 8 that night. I was afraid that we were going to have to make our way to DTD in order to catch a bus to the Contemporary resort.

I know this sounds like a lot, but do you think we will be too rushed? How long will it take to do MGM? Do you think we can get a good majority of it in before 3:00? I know it all depends on the lines and stuff, but I was just wondering if this sounds like a feasible strategy.

I guess we could always just plan on leaving at 3:00 anyway, and go back to MGM another time during the week.

We will then need to gather our bags and take a bus to POR since that is where we will be staying the duration of our trip.
Are you going to POR at that time just to check in? I have not done this, but I think for an on-site split stay WDW transfers your luggage for you.

I think the monorials run quite awhile after MK has closed. But can't say for sure how long.

I would just see about the resort transferring luggage for you. This allows a little more time at MGM. And go from MGM to POR to meet up with your luggage and check in.

It usually does take longer to get around that you may initially think. Just allow yourself plenty of time.
You will be able to do a lot in MGM that day, Maybe all you care to anyway.

Definitely take the Boat to MGM and not the bus. You can even walk!

You should be able to have Boardwalk Inn transfer your bags to POR. You'll have to check out of BWI before noon anyway, so you can just take your bags down and show up at POR an hour or so before before your carriage ride if you need to change clothes, etc. (take the bus from MGM to POR).:bounce:

There is no bus from the Boardwalk to Disney Studios. You either take the bus or walk. The walk is often quicker than the boat. I'd walk.
