Our trip next October is 1st staying at the Boardwalk so we are taking Magical Express to get us there. Here is the situation on Friday we are checking out and will be heading to Port Canaveral for a 3 day cruise on the Royal Caribbean. Can we take the Magical Express to MCO and from there pick up GO Port Canaveral bus from MCO to the Port? Can we carry the luggage on the bus with us and then get off at MCO where they drop you off? We are wondering can go from that stop to GO port Canaveral pickup. They are at Terminal A in front of A18 at Level 1 ground transportation. Thanks

Every resort guest is entitled to a ride from and back to MCO. Once you get there, they don't care what you do or where you go. Take your bags on the bus. You will have to schlep from Terminal B ground level to Terminal A ground level but it is certainly possible to do just what you suggest.

Does DME no longer make two stops (a & b side) at the airport?

Asked this a few weeks ago because I had to schlep 7 people and lots of carry ons from Term B to the Jet Blue side last year and NOBODY remembered 2 stops. I though I was crazy because when we started taking DME, it always made 2 stops. I remember the driver announcing over and over again to pay attention to where you got off. But I seemed to be the only one who remembered it. It was 2 stops back in the day wasn't it?!?!?

I been taking ME since 2010 and I don't remember stopping at both terminals. So I believe it was before 2010.

I'm pretty sure it used to be 2 stops. Once there was a huge back up at Terminal A, and the driver said everyone's going to Terminal B and you can walk to A if you need to.

Well I’ve been using DME since 2006 so they did 2 stops back then. Since, I’ve flown SWA almost exclusively and they are in the B terminal so I guess I never noticed til the Jet Blue trip last year. With the construction, it was a long painful trek!

Cruise line transfers aren't always the best buy, particularly if you have 3 or 4 on your group. Price a car service, uber and a one way car rental. It will be more convenient and might not be that much more expensive

Well actually, since I use RAC & already have my boarding pass, I go straight to security so I don’t go to the SWA counter. But we had a lap baby & they screwed up our seat assignments so we had to go to the JB ticket counter. Maybe thats why I never noticed before. Boy, I’m more confused than I thought!!!!

Spring 2011 it stopped at both terminals.

When we went in 2017 (hadn't used DME in between these 2 trips), I assumed it would stop at both terminals. I only half listened to the driver's announcement, and assumed he gave instructions about the two stops.

So, the bus stops at Terminal B, and my family starts to get off, and I'm telling them all not to get off, it isn't our stop, and was VERY insistent! Everyone on the bus heard me, and was very confused. A bunch of people started asking the bus driver if it was their stop or not.

The bus driver was clearly annoyed at me for confusing his bus load of people!

In the end, I tried explaining that I wasn't confused; I simply wanted to go back to WDW. No one bought it.

Interesting. It's been quite a while (almost 5 years) since I needed to take it back to the airport. I wonder when that changed.
Yep, it's been quite awhile Jeff!!! I miss that second stop. Now, because now I fly SW and JB predominantly, I use Side A. I hate the walk over and down to DME.

Oh shoot that is so funny! I fly southwest and miss them stopping on both sides. I can’t even remember how I learned it only made 1 stop when the policy changed. Sorry yours is so memorable lol

Unless you're claiming luggage (coming) or checking luggage (going) A or B makes no difference. When you get off the monorail and leave the secured area you're within 6 feet of the imaginary line separating the A and B side of the terminal. Returning you'll walk to security. Once you clear security you'll see two monorails. One monorail will be taking you to airside on the A side and the other monorail to gates airside on the B side.

Southwest passengers who need to get their luggage have to go down to level 1, get their luggage, go back up to level 3, schlep to the opposite corner of the airport then go down to level 1.

That's certainly true for arriving passengers. For departing passengers, it's more important to know the gate number than the airport side, as you can see on the terminal map, A side serves gates 1-29 and 100-129. B size serves 30-59 and 70-99. Specifically, security on the west side of the terminal (left side of the map) serves gates 1-59 and security on the east side (right on the map) serves gates 70-129. We usually fly SW out of one of the gates in the 100-129 group. That happens to be on the A side, but the critical point is to go through security on the east side.Translate_Wayfinding_Map.png
