Will this end up being the pandemic that cried wolf?

Gyms as well. Gyms seem like one of the highest risk for cross contact. Are they going to clean the equipment between each person?

I know it has to happen eventually but I think it is a few weeks too soon.

I plan to continue doing what I have been doing, though I really would like a haircut. Going out to get groceries every other week, getting togo food on Fridays.

Pretty much the same routine. I get Fry’s pickup every other week. I’m not ready to go back to a gym. My membership is on hold until October.

Georgia is looking for this Friday at opening up, among businesses, hair and nail salons, barbers, spas, tattoo parlors, body art studios, as long as social distancing is maintained. Hmmm, sounds tough to me. :confused3 How does that work?

Yes, saw that. That should go well. I know I'd feel super comfortable getting my hair and nails done right now. Or maybe a nice massage. Insanity.

Sweden's death rate/1 mil population is nearly 24% higher than the US. Put another way, if the US had the same death rate/million as Sweden, we'd have experienced an additional 10,000 or so deaths in the last 7 weeks. Imagine if that happened--we'd be talking about a bloodbath.

There are certain groups in this country who say we can't run our economy like Sweden's because their country isn't anything like the US, on many levels. I find it ironic that many of these same people want to be like Sweden when it comes to the coronavirus.
Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while. :)

Is that some sort of joke?
No. The morgues using refrigerated trucks are an incredibly small number of the morgues in the US. There is not a single morgue in Texas that is using refrigerated trucks.

You might want to change the wording on that post - it doesn't read the way you think it does.

But what about the risk they'll pose to others if they themselves get sick?

We'll, based on the poll that someone posted, 82% of the residents of Georgia think that it's too soon. That's probably pretty smart based on the fact that their Governor seemed somewhat surprised that there were "asymptomatic spreaders" of the disease. News that had been well documented for well over a month to the general public......psssst, I think he knew.

No problem. They can continue to self isolate.

It wasn't long after he also learned the bad news that Blockbuster had closed.
