Will this be enough time?

We currently have 5 day non-hoppers booked for late August 2016. There will be myself, DH, DS6, DD4, DD2. Will this be enough time, in your experience, to get a good taste of WDW? We could add a 6th and/or 7th day or upgrade to hoppers. While it's not a once in a lifetime trip, we likely wouldn't be back for 3 years.

I was thinking 1 day at each park and then an extra day at MK? We've been to DLR a few times and the we are all used to park hopping and being able to walk back to our hotel. I'm thinking hopping might be too much hassle with 3 little ones? We're staying at Poly if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

IMO, I think so. Our first trip since the 90s we only did a 4 day trip with no hoppers. We did MK 2 days, HS 1 day and EP 1 day and had a great time! For our next trip we planned a 5 day no hopper trip. I would love to stay more days, but most in my group would be too exhausted, lol. I just keep the mindset that there is no way to see or do it all in one trip! Always a reason to go back ;)

It is plenty of time to get a good taste. It is not enough time to do "everything" (I realize its not possible to do literally everything).

I think 1 park per day is plenty, maybe with a resort ADR for breakfast or dinner.

The biggest thing to do is realize you are not going to see it all, and prioritize & plan what you want to (rides or characters or whatever)

have fun!

Don't add hoppers! Concentrate on one park per day, two days at Magic Kingdom. You'll have plenty of time to do what you want. Prioritize in each park. No, you won't see absolutely everything. But you won't with 6 or 7 days either! But that will be fine. You'll definitely see the highlights, get in your must-dos, and lots of extras. It will be perfect for a first trip without being overwhelming.

I might want to add that weather will be HOT HOT HOT and HUMID, so you may not be able to get full days done in the parks if the kiddies have a melt-down. I found that a day in the water parks helped us relax from all the walking in the parks

Our trips usually consist of 1 park per day plus an extra at MK (or a park hopping day)

Be wary that park hopping takes a LOT longer and longer energy than at DLR (obvs) Epcot & Mk are super close via Monorail, and DHS/Epcot are close via walk/boat, but still much further than cali.

I'd say your trip sounds great, the Poly is easy enough to get back to from MK/Ep for naps/breaks, and Ak/Dhs (IMO) aren't really full day parks for everyone (I skip dhs half day, and most people think AK is a half day). If everyone's feeling tired around 3/4 at dak and you've done everything, take an easy night, head back to the Poly early!
