Will this be a problem?

We haven't yet received our blue DVC membership cards and our temporary ones expired 5/31. Will we "need" these cards for our trip to OKW leaving 8/21 or will our room cards be enough? I'm concerned we might have to show them at check-in or maybe for discounts? This will be our first DVC stay so excuse my lack of knowledge.

FYI, I did mention that we did not receive them yet to MS about a month ago when calling to check availability at HH and she said she would look into it. Before I bother MS again I thought someone here might help. We did just receive our recorded deed this week, so I'm hoping the cards will follow soon. We purchased SSR 2/04 with a Feb. use year (Building 3).

your room keys will note your DVC membership.

However, you should call your guide.

When we ate the Dolphin in June, they required the blue member cards for the discount. Although, I think anything owned by Disney would only need the room key.

Your room key that says member should be sufficient. Still, there have been a number of postings lately about different venues requireing the Blue card. It's unlikely you'll be able to get them in time. You have several options. First, you could request a letter from DVC. Second, you could take your temp ones and if anyone asks, just explain you didn't get the new ones. The other option is that the perks spiel on the DVC website says you only need one OR the other, you could print that out. Actually you should print it out anyway as sometimes those that are supposed to give a discount dont know it and at times there are discounts not listed on the paperwork you get when you check in.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I've seen on another thread that some received their deeds and cards this past week. We did get our deed, but no blue cards yet. At this late date I'll just keep checking the mailbox each day...hopefully they'll be here by the 21st. We signed contract and paid in full way back in Feb. (deed recorded 7/2). And if they don't come...we'll take your advice Dean and bring our expired temp. cards and printout from DVC website.

I would also take your temporary cards, even though they "expired". You could simply explain that the blue cards have been delayed.

But to echo what everyone else has said, you will not need them for check-in at all, but may be asked for them for some discounts.
