We are planning a trip in September (4th year with free dining :cool1: Gotta love free food  Here is my dilemma. We made all our ADRS around the 180 day mark. Then we thought it would be nice if we asked my Dad to come along as he hasn't been in over 25 years- not since we were little kids (I am 35 now) So anyway...I was able to change all the ressie's to 5 people except for Chef Mickey's on our arrival night for dinner and our dinner at LeCellier.

So I was wondering what our chances of them seating us are if 5 of us show up and it is only a reservation for 4. I know technically we are not supposed to do this but I just don't want to give up these dinners as they are so hard to come by. But I want ALL of us to be able to go.

Anyone else had this problem before? What do you think I should do??

thanks in advance :goodvibes

Since you're going from 4 to 5, it'll be trickier. I would show up and give it a shot; never know! But don't be surprised if they turn you away, esp someplace like LeCellier which is already pretty cramped for space.

at last minute we had one extra person to our dining plans ( several times)
we had ressies for 8 at chef mickeys, garden grill, 50's & sci fi & showed up with 9, we had no problem getting seated. we also went from 4 to 5 at crystal palace, no problem. they didn't even blink. ( this was during spring break time in 2007)
you 'could' show up & when you check in at podium, have a shocked look on your face that "hey I made it for 5!" or, um warn your father he may be waiting for you to eat :rotfl:

I say keep trying right up until the day of your ADR. If nothing becomes available, then try showing up and see what they say...it can't hurt. I'm sure they would do everything they could do get you seated. But be prepared for the possibility of being turned away, especially if it's a busy time.
