Will they give us a hand?

My wife and I are returning home -- to the Board Walk! -- in July, for two glorious weeks.

But there's a hitch. Halfway through, we have to change rooms -- check out, then check back in, move luggage, etc.

Also, the second week, we're being joined by my wife's parents -- who will have their own room (a studio at the BWV, on our points.)

Questions:

1. At the time we check out, do you think it's possible to check back in, into the second room? I'm assuming the room won't be ready, but they'll hold our luggage for us.

2. Do you think we can also check in for my in-laws at the same time (since it's our points and we are, in essence, paying for it, and we'd plan for any charges incurred to go to our account, anyway...)

I realize we probably will not have access to the new room(s) until late in the afternoon, but I'm hoping we can at least contend with some of the paperwork earlier, so we don't have to deal with it later. We could, I hope, just arrive at the Board Walk after dinner and head straight to our respective rooms without having to stand in line to check in.

Anybody know if that is feasible???

You can check-in to you new room at anytime that day. You'll get new room keys and be told to call back for room number. Bellservices will hold your luggage until you get to your new room and call for it. In whose name is your parents' room reserved? If it is your parents' then I believe they will have to check in show ID etc.

DS13 & I are staying 6nights at the VWL then 2nights at the WL before switching to the BCV for 6nights this Aug

Im planning on checking out of the VWL and into the WL at the same time at the desk. I understand we most likely will need to wait to get into our WL room. The way the plans are right now as soon as we checkin/out we'll be going to AK for their regular opening. It will be an early morning.

You said you've been told you will have to check back in......make sure your ressies are linked....sometime the room assigner will let you stay in your original room and you just have to go through the formality of checkin at the front desk and getting new keys but never having to change rooms...We have done this before..

As far as checking out and then checking back in again, I'm assuming you're changing room size or view. If it's available, I imagine you can just flip. I did last year at BWV; from a studio to a one-bedroom that happened to be available. In fact, I checked into the new room before I checked out of the studio so I could go back and get my luggage.

If you leave your name on the folks' ressie, I would think you could check into it and then have them get room keys when they arrive.

Yeah, the ressie for my in-laws is in our name. We're moving from a preferred view to a standard view, so (unless something changes) we can't stay in the same room for the whole time.

Thanks, guys. Sounds like this shouldn't be as complicated as I'd feared! :teeth:

Let the countdown begin!
