hi - we're going on the 14 day cruise and are just trying to see how we can occupy ourselves for 14 days -

do you think that they'll bring back "ghost ship" -

how about other activities -

also - do you think that there'll be extra cast members for added activities -

just some thoughts

Have you taken the backstage tour of the WD theater?

They simply don't have that much room with the sets for the major shows they're doing now.

I'd like to see Ghost Ship again, but don't see that happening. More than likely they'll have other forms of entertainment, movies or such.

While it would be great for them to bring back "Voyage of the Ghost Ship", I don't think that it is practical. The casts that last performed the show are long gone, and I would suspect that the costumes and sets are off the ship as well. Even Morty the Magnificant's costumes and sets would be long gone.

It would take many weeks to train the new cast to perform the show one night for 2 cruises. Since the cruises are a few months apart, it is possible that there would be a cast change between the two cruises. I believe a new cast comes on every 4 months or so. The casts would need to be fitted for the costumes as well, not sure if they even still have those costumes (at least they have a couple of the costumes for the behind the scenes tour).

I would suspect that they would have more variety shows as they can bring in more acts to perform. They could even do Mouseketter two nights.

Recently, I saw Rhythm Extreme on the ship. It was a group similar to Stomp. The cast was 6 performers that used various items as drums (stuff like trash cans). Not sure how many cruises they were on but the October 2 cruise was there last shows on the Magic. Possibly they could bring that group back for each of the 14-night cruises.

It will be interesting on what they do for the menus. 7 more theme nights would take a lot of work for the two cruises.

I am sure that they will come up with some creative plans for you guys. Wish I was on either of the cruises, but that would eat up too much of my vacation time.

Epcot regulars know them by a different name I suspect, The Jammitors. They play on trash cans and stuff and are very good. :)

And that's more what I meant- other variety shows and would say probably at least one or two evenings of a new release fillm.

Rhythm Extreme was also added to the extended 8/28 Magic cruise. DCL flew them into Galveston and had them performing 2 shows that evening. They also did a repeat of the Golden Mickey's on the very last night of the cruise.

For 14 days, I would expect DCL might rotate in some additional shows like Rhythm Extreme and double up on some stuff like Mouseketter and the movie premier. Since they will not have additional space for big productions, I would expect for magic, comedy, and music type acts. These type of acts could probably come and go during the cruise and only have to spend a day or two on board.

As far as I've heard, there will be a new production show opening on the Magic for the repositioning cruises and the new Mexico itinerary.

I work on the ship, so I know there are plans for a new show. Don't worry; Disney has put a lot of thought into the new cruises! I think the entertainment will be fantastic.

I can't wait for them to release some info to us! Anything you know would be greatly appreciated. . .

Princess snow, please do share...........

Telling anything would ruin the surprise, so I'm keeping quiet! I'm on vacation off the ship now, so I haven't heard any of the latest anyway. I am planning to get on the Magic in time to be part of the all the new stuff for the new itineraries. So, hope to see you in the Panama Canal and Mexico!

We have heard that Don Ducky Williams will join the cruise in Acapulco and have probably 2 shows and a signing event. He is great to see draw all the characters.

Wow, interesting how close some of these predictions were for the 10-day cruise, and I suspect that we were somewhat ginuea pigs for the 14-day cruises.

Yes, we had new menus - 4 in all, I believe. Some I liked, some I will be commenting on to DCL, as they weren't as good.

Yes, we also saw Rythme Extreme on the ship. In addition, we saw what I believe was a new variety act by a guy who does comedy and ventrilequism (sp?). He was okay, the kids seemed to really love him. There were a lot of kids on that trip - over 1200. Not sure his shows would work on the May repo cruise as I expect a lot less children on that cruise. Just my guess though.

Yes, the main show on two nights was a movie, The Incredibles on one night and National Treasure on another night.

Oh, and yes, Ducky Williams will be on 9 cruises next year, including the two through the canal. I heard he will be doing a special litho and a special "canal crossing" certificate for those two cruises.

I would love to see a new show on the repo cruises!

Okay, I confess, I have no clue who Don Ducky Williams is, I see his name mentioned here from time to time. A Google search does indicate he is an artist who frequents DCL.
He looks too young to have been with Disney very long.
Only "Ducky" I am familiar with is Clarence Ducky Nash, the original voice of Donald Duck......he is no longer with us.

OMG give me 14 days on the ship and I dont care if there is NOTHING to do...I would enjoy doing just that!!!!! :)
