Will there ever be discounts during Christmas?

We are planning a trip with 3 families. We really need the deals!

I'm in the same boat as you - 14 of us going. We already have our rooms booked, but am keeping an eye out for discounts. I'm doubtful given that it's Christmas week that we'll be there!

We are trying to put together a trip for the 2nd week of December. From what I can see the rates are better until Dec. 19th and then they jump.

We will be a family of at least 6 and more if kids get friends to join them. We are thinking of telling other extened family members that we are going and they can reserve rooms near us if they choose but I am concerned how much that might be a hassel to wait on others families.
We went at this time about 10 years ago and just loved it except the weather was not really warm enough to swim. Oh well! Maybe that will change this year!

I, too, was wondering when codes and discounts would come out. We normally do not spend much time in our rooms so the value resorts would be fine but with 6 I think we will have to get two rooms so maybe we would be better somewhere else.

What resorts will accomodate a group of 6 in one room? Any?

Often there are discounts that expire either just before Christmas, like 12/24, or sometimes that will run for check-ins through 12/26. Usually, you have to check-in before Christmas day, though. With the exception of December right after 9/11, there usually aren't any discounts for check-ins between Christmas and New Year's.

If anyone in your group is a teacher, nurse, or works for a government you can get a discount at the Swan or Dolphin that week if you book early. You will have to provide proof at check-in but the discount is good ($139-149/night) and you are in a great location at a non-Disney deluxe. Again, you will need to book early because this is a popular week for international travelers and these two hotels are popular with international travelers.

You can always book the Disney hotel you want and hope a discount comes available later. If you decide to do this, I would recommend Dreams Unlimited. They can keep an eye on your reservation and automatically change your reservation to reflect a discount the day it becomes available.

We are figuring that we are going to have to do adjoining rooms too!

We are really up in the air about when to go. We are tying to coordinate adult childrens schedules and it appears we may have to go right before Christmas, during Christmas or over New Years. I had really hoped to go earlier in December but one child will not be over exams until the 16th of December.

Is there a site that give actual attendance at the parks to judge how busy it will be?
