Will there be additional evening performances of theater shows at AK?

According to Touringplans, the last performances of Finding Nemo, Lion King, and Flights of Wonder are 5pm, 5pm, and 3pm, respectively. Now that Animal Kingdom is open in the evening, will additional performances be added for these attractions?

When are you going? The park won't be open as late during the winter months ( except during really busy weeks), and park hours haven't been updated yet for the fall months.

Right now the park is open til 11:00, and FOTLK has its last show at 8:00, Nemo at 6:00, and FOW at 4:30.

We're going Feb. 19-26 (President's Day to the Princess Half Marathon). I have no idea what to expect with the recent additions at AK. How late could the park close and if there is a Rivers of Light show, when might it take place?

We are going the week after thanksgiving and planning ak arrival day but they have to be open late so I guess I wait for the hours...

In all likelihood, IF there is an evening show, I'd expect it to run 7:30 is, with park claret after. And that's a huge if. I don't think ROL debuts this year, or even early next year, based on various rumors.

I'm guessing that the AK hours posted now are going to be extended for over the fall/winter. We're going after New Years and the calendar current shows a 5pm close. Even at the beginning of January, it doesn't get dark that early, so how would they do all the nighttime stuff with those hours?

I believe you are much closer to the source than I am, but I think the saga of nighttime AK entertainment/ROL is one which unfolds from day to day. It will cause frustration for planners, but I think you'll see schedule changes from month-to-month, or even week-to-week. There will be no reliable way to plan until very close to one's travel time.

I'm not that close to sources on the show itself, but I do know keepers at Animal Kingdom. So they're a little removed, but tied into park rumors pretty well in their own ways.

The last set of auditions for an AK show were for Jungle Book, and indicated through end of summer. But given the audition date, that would be a very short contract by Equity standards. The requirements that had been there when they auditioned RoL originally weren't listed, for what that's worth, so it's difficult to say that JB performers would just slot into the ROL choreography.

Most of the ROL issues weren't human. They were sensors and control and wind and projection -- not dancers.
