I am arriving at Orlando on 8th October and have done my itinerary but have to go to Harry Potter world in the 1st couple of days of arriving to qualify for virgin early hours, I have noticed It is Columbus day, Do the crowds build up on that day ?
Thanks  9 days to go sooooooooooo excited

Try the Univeral Tips Board rather than Disney, you will get much better information there. There is also a search function there that may find a thread that can give you an idea of the crowds.

Sunday is supposed to be one of the best days for HP. I don't think Columbus Day brings as big of crowds as some people do. Just make sure you get there right at park open (although onsite guests and package holders will already have been there for an hour). Single rider line for the new HP ride is said to be very short at all times. Being that you can't interact with other people during the ride, single rider makes more sense on this ride than some others. But obviously go through the regular line your first time through.
