Here's my conundrum: I have a swimsuit that got bleached at a waterpark I went to the other day in NY. It wasn't DRASTIC, but enough to make the black look a little green :-(. It was also a cheap suit, so no big deal.

DFH and I are not planning on spending tons of time at the resort in the pool, nor do we have the Waterparks & More add-on, so no worries there. But I did just buy a pretty nice swimsuit that I look fantastic in (and that's a miracle!). I'm worried that it will get bleached, so I'm sort of sad that I might not be able to wear it.

Has anyone had a swimsuit bleach, anywhere in the parks?

The only place I've EVER had a suit bleached was in the hot tub at SoG. Actually, my mom borrowed my bathing suit top, so she got it bleached. The funny thing is, She was only sitting, so from a little below her shoulders up is still the original color (it was a chocolate brown with dark turquoise pattern). I actually like the bleached color just as much (lighter brown and aqua). It was just a cheap suit, as well, from Target, so not a huge deal. Never had the problem anywhere else on property.

I've never had anything happen to my swimsuits (beyond reasonable wear and tear) from any Disney resort pool or water park. I always rinse my suit out in the shower though after I use it and then let it hang dry. But if the suit is cheap, it may discolor more easily.

I've never had this happen. You should be fine. As the pp said, rinse out your suit after wearing it, and you should be fine.
Happy swimming! :)

Your suit probably got bleached because it was cheap, I wouldn't worry about it with a better quality suit.

Disney does not use bleach but another chemical, so no worries.

Disney uses Bromine in their pools and it doesn't seem to bleach. But in any event you should ALWAYS rinse your swimsuit out in the sink thoroughly after wearing it.I have NEVER had a suit bleach out, and I have a pool in my yard plus I spend lots of time in Disneys' pools

We were in the pools at POP every afternoon during our stay, and had no problems with our suits. I just rinsed them really well in the sink or shower after we got back to the room then hung them up to dry for the next day.

Cheapo suits and expensive, pretty suits will generally hold up less well than a Speedo (or similar). Believe it or not, many of the expensive, pretty suits will come with a tag that tells you not to swim in them.

However, if you spend enough time in pools, any suit will fade.

If swimming is the priority, don't worry about a little fading. If having a lovely suit is the priority, don't swim.

Good luck!
