Will the Point changes cause more DVC weekend days to be booked.

When the dust settles and I take a look at everything, I was already planning to do two short non-DVC weekend trips in 2009 - in 2010, I may do those Sat/Sun in AKV values. I have to drive in on Friday, so I'd never spend Friday points on a day I would not be in the resort.

Ok, I've gone and printed out all the charts. I see that weekdays went up and weekends went down. We usually stay 7 nights so not a big deal to us. I can't help but think it's all the people that never used points on the weekends that made this change happen. It does have a domino effect and one that they caused. We always knew it could happen and it's not changed since 1996 so really it was long overdue.

I'm planning a THV stay in 2010. I'm glad that there is no longer such a huge differential in the weekend points because now I've adjusted our trip to be over the weekend. <--- am I the only one who is happy at the change in the weekend stays?

I don't think the point chart change will effect us - we bought enough points for exchanging out to a 2 bedroom should we ever decide to do so, so we have cushion for our usual stays.

We typically arrive on a Saturday and stay through the next Saturday. DH's time off (or his willingness to TAKE time off) is pretty limited, so we rarely get to stay more than a week. Occassionally we will fly out on a Thursday or Friday - in those cases, it probably actually benefits us because of the lowering of weekend points.
