yes, but have the book ready, as well as the camera

They were more than happy to for us! We had 2 pillow cases for them to sign (not quite as easy as a book) and they were always great about it.

They sure will...they expect to and are very good about it!

Yes - usually the characters will go from table to table, allow you to take a picture and sign the autograph book. The only thing is you just have to be watchful of when they are getting around to your area. You don't want to be up getting food and then miss them visiting your table.
